I couldn't remove the cartridge from the gun, watched half a dozen videos that still couldn't explain how to remove it until this one. This lady explained that the cartridge hide to slide back a little (as opposed to forward) before it could be taken out which worked. Simple to most people I assume but no other video I watched explained this so thank you.

@@Know-How-Now that is interesting. I own two or three, but they are all of identical type. Do your caulk guns differ in their design or strength, seem as you use them for different thicknesses of material?
@Know-How-Now4 жыл бұрын
Hi David, One of the guns has a higher "push ratio" for thick materials like roof cement. The other gun is a dripless type that has a lower ratio. I like to use that for caulking material. BURSTING? YES! (THANK YOU _without your comment i would not have found out about the caulk - at least supposedly - solidifying from the back end) I just saw another video that talks about how if caulk solidifies in the front (where it CAN often be pierced to be used again successfully) or in the back of the tube (air seal is broken when used) and when one tries to use it again one will crank down on it in an attempt to get materials to come out and the tube will fail/burst! Seems Like lots of good info Video LINK: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZq7dHyqiMxrm6M

Thank you so much! So if I only used a little bit how do I keep adhesive from drying out?
@Know-How-Now2 жыл бұрын
That's tough. I find that the material inside the tube will not dry up for a while.. around a year? The problem is that it dries up in the spout and it's very hard to clear the dried material out of the spout. I put a large nail in the spout, that helps some, but sometimes you have to cut the spout back to get the dried material out.

@ Know How Now Ahhh thank you very much for the refresher video cause ive been doing exactly everything that was shiwn it the video 🤦🏾♂️ and I finally resolved the problem I was having my Gorilla Glue Stick exploded in the back in the cradle thus hardening and not letting me be able to remove the glue stick...I used scissors which helped. Now my question for you is the glue stick inserted into the Caulk Gun suppose to explode from the back while the rod is inserted into it? 🤔🤔🤔
@Know-How-Now6 ай бұрын
If whatever is in the tube has dried up enough so that it can't get past the nozzle and you force it, it will likely come out the back of the tube. Sometimes there is just a clog of dried substance in the nozzle. You can try cutting the nozzle back to a wider point and push the dried plug out of the tube. I stick a large nail into the nozzle of the tube for storage. That usually prevents a clogged nozzle.
@thetrickster91066 ай бұрын
Thank you for the heads up and such I'll definitely keep it in mind for future use when I get my own Gorilla Glue Gun. I had an asphalt tube and a caulking gun. the asphalt glue came from the back not the tip. it was awful and the caulking gun was not a cheapy one. What did I do wrong, I had asphalt all over the gun and my hands. Boy
@Know-How-Now2 жыл бұрын
I would guess that the tip was clogged or the seal was not pierced. If it was a tube that had been previously opened and not used for a while, then for sure the tip was clogged. I stick a large nail in the tip after I am finished using the tube. Sometimes I still have to cut the tip larger and try to get dried material out of the tip that is clogging it.
@HelmetVanga2 жыл бұрын
@@Know-How-Now Thank you ever so much. You are right, this was a new tube, and I did not break the seal, the tip was to narrow too after I sliced it. The gun comes with a pin, which I did not even realized its purpose. I had to use a screw driver to apply the asphalt glue to the singles for the chicken coop roof. Thanks for reply, great help.
@Know-How-Now2 жыл бұрын
You are welcome, it's my pleasure to help. If find you are squeezing the trigger on the gun and feel that you have to squeeze a lot harder with nothing coming out, it is likely that the tip is clogged. Stop, release the pressure by pulling the rod back and pierce the foil or if it's a used tube you may have to cut the opening larger, poke around in the tip with something and then try to get the dried material past the hole in the tip. If you keep squeezing and the tip is blocked the material will blow out the back of the tube, as you experienced.
