I know this video is now old enough that you may have already addressed this, but a snatch block will help with under powered feeling. That effectively doubles your capacity. Great video! Have you shorten the winch cable? five raps on the spool and twice the length of your trailer is what you need. The winch is at this its strongest winding the first few raps. Aso, get a snatch block for those heavy loads. Go ahead and remove the solar panel. It's too small and in a bad location. Thanks for the video on the trailer and dumpsters.

Not yet, I do plan on shortening the winch cable for sure. Just waiting to have both cans in the yard in case something goes wrong and I don’t have the ability to pick one up. I want a snatch block but not sure where to attach it up front? Any input would be great.

When I used to load 20ft shipping containers onto the tilt tray truck, I'd hook up the cable and then release the handbrake and always drag the truck under. I'd have the tray all the way to the ground for the initial pick up, but then lifted it clear to drag it up. I could also back up at an angle to the container, pick up a corner and then turn the steer wheels to line up the container, which needed to be done when there wasn't room for the truck to line up straight. Letting the truck roll back not only makes it easier on the winch, but also prevents the container from dragging along the ground. The key thing is to remember to set the brake before tilting down and thus lifting the container, aka the mechanical brake / anchor, off the ground. Fortunately my boss was smart and had a wireless remote hooked up. I could set myself up where I needed to see what was happening, stand by the cab to steer if needed etc.

I bought a 2022 load trail gooseneck 16ft triple axle in april. I have many of the same issues. The winch needs at least half the cable removed. Every wrap of the cable cuts the pulling power down. I got 5 bins, all of the doors fit terribly. My solar charger caused issues as well. I've got a bunch more stuff as issues too. It's a great setup but the quality control is lacking. So if you want a cheap, easy and fast fix for your winch, try adding a snatch block. All you need to do is hook the block to the can and attach the winch hook to the trailer or winch itself. By doubling the cable, you double the pulling power of the winch. It'll save you hundreds of $$$ and cost you like $30-150 to rectify the current issue. You can pick a snatch block at Tractor Supply.

Also add larger battery cables and put on extra batteries. You should also run Battery cables from each battery One to the pump and oneto the winch with breaker fuses on The ones with the switch that you can turn off and on. That way you can use both batteries at once or if the battery goes dead you can turn the other one on.
