Delicious. I cooked it much longer because it hadn’t cooked through properly. It was lovely and moist and nothing leaked out, it held together perfectly, no need for an egg to bind it. I lowered the heat once seared to stop the burger from getting too black. I think the lentils really helped make the consistency tender and fluffy, that’s the best way I can describe it.

I see you're using brioche buns, lovely! Little problem, I don't seem to be able to get those around my area. Now I can make them myself no problem, but it's quite expensive to make and quite a bit of work (eventhough my mixer is doing most of it). Am I looking in the wrong places, should I go to a bakery instead? What's the secret?

Some don't like to call them brioche buns, just look for ones that look the same and it's probably a brioche in general.

@@ixekun looked at the "hamburger buns" at my local grocery store, and while they work they're not brioche and don't taste the same. No eggs, no milk, no butter, just sugar and a LOT of additives. Some of those additives actually being quite unhealthy.

Adding all those pickles adds too much moisture to the ground meat. You need something to bind it. Can imagine the patty is loose unpleasant. You can see it starting to fall apart as he’s frying it. Idk how I feel bout this one

This is actually a common misconception. 77% of the soy grown in the world is actually to feed to livestock. Only 7% currently goes to humans to eat. If we stopped eating meat, we would free up millions of hectares of land: the land used for the animals AND the land currently used to grow soy/grain to feed to the animals. A plant-based is far more sustainable. I encourage you to Google it and read for yourself :)

This doesn't taste as good as full meat burger. In the Subcontinent it is known as shami kebab or bun kebab. Street food vendors serve this across India and Pakistan. It crap compared to real meaty burger. However for broke people and bun kebab enthusiasts it's a cheap way of getting some meat in. However I ate so much of it as a kid. I just can't eat as a meal anymore. As a light snack on Eid day. Yes. But only then. Or on rare occasions with 2 fried eggs and parthas. The hot yolk and this patty make delicious enough to eat maybe 3-4 times a year.
