Looks like Quad Socket (G34) AMD Opteron. Not worth using obviously (power cost alone).

I had a small Dell Power Edge R630 that cost too much to run at home :) ... This AMD rig would have been a hungry one with 8 CPUs on 2 main boards. So hungry.

Quad CPUs are way too much for a NAS, especially from the HDD days

True. And to have 2 sets of them. It just had more drive bays then most servers I have worked with or torn apart. But I agree with you now. :) And to have 2 sets of quads... I wonder why the system was so stacked. I am very curious what it was used for before it got decommissioned.

My experience with RAM recovery has been pretty close to what I said in the video. DDR3 is pretty good to recover from. That RAM may not get $600 ... it is an estimate, but the last run I did got me over $1K ... but I did not count the sticks... just the weight of the chips. And that did not include the fingers. But at the end of the day, the machine was saved for me to do just this with it. It was an old enterprise machine that was to be dismantled for parts. So, it is now dismantled...

If Kamala gets elected the price of gold will be sky high, it won't take much to reach $600. If we are around to use it.

lol ... gold and stock prices are indicators for global and domestic economic health. $600 per gram will be a bad day for all of us. But gold will be nice to have on that day :)
