Got my first Jupiter-8 with a 1961 Zorki-4. I liked the lens so much I got a 1956 version with the famous Red П & a focusing knob for my FED-2... It now spends more time on my Sony-a6000. I just love using a 75mm equivalent FoV Sonnar type lens while doing the dastardly digital thing! Sony set to 'Rich Tone Mono' of course. ;-)

I'm working on a Jupiter 8 T-shirt and merch for my redbubble site. Perhaps my favorite Soviet lens.

Thanks for the video I have recently picked one of this Zorki's up, initially for the Jupiter 8 lens attached, but have feel in love with the look & feel of this Russian Rangefinder... Always good to see in pictures how yo do something. thanks for sharing For your info, if your were not already aware, a KZbin channel called "Zenography" has some great videos on the Zorki & Fed cameras & lens... Well worth a watch if you or any of your subscribers are interested. Enjoy your Zorki. Regards David

I own this camera as well and like after my 4 or 5 rolls. The biggest warning to anyone looking to buy this camera after the cock the shutter first is the rewind mechanism! It takes a long time to rewind film and your finger tips will begin to burn a bit! Then you still need to keep going while changing fingers! When the film finally releases you will know but while you are trying to do so feels like eternity! I've opened up the camera to remove the film several times just to realize I did not rewind all the way! Sounds like a dumb mistake on my part, you will find your self doing the same! 3 or 4 rolls will get you in ther right frame of mind! Lovely range finder camera!

Hi Brian! I wanted to ask you something, do you know any 3d print of the spool film? I bought One without spool...I was thinking maybe I can get a 3d printed spool because here I'm my city there aren't spare parts. Thx!

Fedka sells them for ten dollars: fedka.com/fs/product/zorki-4-take-up-spool-new/

how do you evaluate when compare with Zenit, Zorki and Smena?
@BriansPhotoShow3 жыл бұрын
They're not really comparable. Zenit is an SLR and Smena is a plastic zone-focus fixed lens camera.

thanks for informing us. just ask for a few photos taken by Zorki and may you share printed ones?

I should have watched this a week ago. I got suspicious when I got to frame 38 and it was still turning. I gúess I didn't get the film into the sprocket hole. A lot of light metering and focusing for nothing 😂

I got a 4K but it seems one side of the frame keeps over exposing.

Mine has that problem, too, though it seems more pronounced at the higher speeds.

@@BriansPhotoShow turns out my shutter curtain was damaged so got a cheap zorki 4 instead
