Bro, I love your vids. I’m from uptown New Orleans, but I’ve spent a lot of time in the parish a few years back with some friends. You might know my guys, Tracy and Darryl, we call Darryl D Money, he’s a DJ and he’s actually from Luling. I’m just getting back into fishing, I love seafood and it’s just relaxing just to get on the water. Keep sharing your stories bro, I’m learning a lot from your vids. Keep teaching those boys how to do it, like seeing the little learning those valuable lessons. ✌️

Jared all your plates are missing is a simple hollandaise sauce or some sort of gravy…you pattern a signature sauce like that buddy and you’re gonna have people beating down your door for your food. My advice is ask a local chef to guest spot a catch clean and cook to get his experience and friendship to help elevate your cooking. Before too long you’re gonna be a rich KZbin sensation! Keep it up friend.

A few years back I was down in Perdido and we caught a late season Jimmy run. Big, old Jimmies, mean as Hell and some monsters among them - over 7 1/2 inches and I take them seriously - all on a hand line. And even though they were old and some were yellow-bellies, they had the sweetest backfin I ever tasted and they were loaded with it. We also netted a few swimming doublers. When they separated, I released the sook. Felt bad about breaking up the honeymoon!

The reason it's smokeless is because there is so many ventilation holes, the more ventilation, the more flame, but it will burn wood faster because of the air, the bigger the flame, the less smoke.

I used to live in North Myrtle Beach and I had a dock on the waterway. I would throw crab traps with chicken in it before work and after work I would go back and get up to 20 to 40 crabs. I would clean them put them in the freezer and my mom made a crab casserole that was so good.

I always thought old nasty chicken was the best bait for Blue Crab here in Maryland. I did an experiment with older chicken vs fresh chicken on 1200 ft trotlines placed about 25 ft. apart on several occasions and found that the fresh chicken outperformed the smelly by about 5 to 1.

One of those females looked like a buster. A little trick my Uncle taught me was put the bait inside a piece of pantyhose. They can't tear the bait up as fast and it makes it a little harder her them to let go. The claws kinda hang up in the hose.

Many, many years ago I helped my ex-brother in law run his commercial crab traps and gill net (back when you could legally have them in the Bay). We put quite a few boxes of live crab in his walk-in cooler and kept 10 dozen crabs for ourselves. My ex mother-in-law had an old roller set from an ancient wringer washing machine and we tore the top shell and main claws off the crabs, put them in large wash tubs with ice and water, then waited an hour or so for the crabs to get totally chilled. Then we broke each crab in half and put the legs into the wringer with the top of the crab facing up and ran the crabs through the wringer with less than 1/2" gap between the rollers. When it was all done, we had a total of 10 one-pound butter containers of pure crab meat plus all those big claws to split among the family. It was work, but it was definitely worth it.

Why does everybody purchase chicken to go crabbing? I can never understand this. Crab will eat almost anything. "Road kill is perfect bait and its free. I trap for a living up here in the Pacific Northwest and I use all of the critters I catch for bait when trapping crab. I hope to visit your area this year. I have got to try some of those ditches.
