Same here in GA with 5 points on dozer or excavator, but we've got to cross each corner chain, left corner of machine to right of trailer etc

I use marking paint on the deck to mark the location of various parts of the trailer, like tie down rings and the axle group's centerline so you can see from the cab where you are on the trailer.

whoa a quad axel, never been a fan of those. Glad I don't have to drive one. I run a 10 wheeler with transfer. Use to drive a tri axel in the north east thats the best for sure.

for a company i use to work for every time we moved a dozer or excavator we had to take card board and put it over the glass so rocks wouldn't break the glass

Cant believe the people that drive equipment onto trailers.If a machine slips and starts backwards your brain cant respond as fast as if you are backing on and sliding forward.I watched a dozer being pulled on a trailer,slide backwards and end up on its roof.He was pulling it on so the tracks are going forward,it slipped so fast the operator couldnt get it stopped and when the tracks hit the ground the forward rotating tracks dug in and turtled the machine.I find its so much easier backing things on a trailer,Its easier to get centered and alot easier and safer driving off a slippery deck than backing off. JMO,safety first

on road fuel is taxed and more expensive, off road fuel is not taxed and if caught running on road it is a huge penalty at least in california

Get a slide hammer and weld a hook on the end. Then you can hook it on the pin and the straight pull from the slide hammer will pull it right out.

Full Metal Geo To answer your question, YES there is a big difference. ON ROAD diesel is used (and required by law!!) by ALL vehicles that are driven on public roads, ie: big rigs, your uncles Super Duty, the neighbors diesel VW Jetta, etc. This diesel has road tax added to the overall price which is to cover cost, upkeep and maintenance of the roads that these vehicles use every day-suppose to anyway. OFF ROAD diesel is what farmers put in their tractors and construction companies use in their construction equipment and this diesel does NOT have the road tax on it, and can not under any circumstances be used for on-highway vehicles as mentioned above, else one subjects himself to heavy fines and penaltys if caught. OFF ROAD diesel has a red dye added to identify it and it leaves a reddish film in the exhaust pipe to allow police to detect when someone uses it in on-highway vehicles.

Do you have to have an escort to go with you when you move that machine we had to have an escort before we got our new trailer because the blade on our dozers hung off the trailer but the bucket on our track loads hung off the trailer to but didn't have to run an escort we were told it was only if it was a blade we had to have an escort but now with our new trailer we bought it with the swing out sides so we can ad a 2x12 on either side so the blade does not hang off anymore we still have to have our oversize load but no more escorts

They are the same diesel except for off-road diesel is dyed red so dot officers know what kind of diesel is in things. The only difference is that you do not pay road tax on off-road diesel, so it is cheaper.
