I enjoy the whole period where Adam was sure his map was wrong in the maze, but it was perfectly correct until he stopped checking it and stumbled into the Mazemaster's room.

O man I never played the book but Warlock of Firetop Mountain is on Steam and was enjoyable to play through! Multiple characters and paths though fair warning replayability isn't the strongest since once you reach the final quarter of the game it always plays out the same.

@1:17:10 Not often, but sometimes in those books they have a fight where if you lose you end up still alive but captured or something, kinda like fights you're forced to lose in video games.

The only gripe I have about fighting fantasy books is the amount of plot necessary items needed to win, that are not informed beforehand. At least in Forest of Doom; you’re told to get the war hammer pieces but books like Bloodbones or Trial of Champions require certain items and if you didn’t get it then there’s no turning back and you’re fucked! So essentially, these books are trial and error runs and once you know the path; you win.
