I was in high school during that time (02-05) and my grandpa had a mint ‘85 white over red with wheels, exhaust, chip, etc.. He’d let me borrow it anytime I wanted, and there was nothing like a Saturday night with the targa top out and me giving those 250 horses a workout lol. I’ll forever have a soft spot for C4s because of that car.

'90s C4's are the Corvettes of my childhood and that all blacked out look may be my favorite combination I've seen. Still remember picking the '96 Grand Sport all the time in the first Gran Turismo.

I've always been lukewarm on C4 Corvettes but one thing I do really like about them are the dashboards. That 80s idea of futuristic looks amazing to me. I had an uncle with an 86 Cougar and I remember riding in the car as a kid and I would just stare at the dashboard watching the green, red, and yellow digital gauges and numbers thinking it was cool as all hell.

Awesome story. Me and my buddy drove a C4 corvette back and forth to work almost every day and we would always mess with the state popo’s and change the color of it. I used to work at a used car dealership in the 90’s in my early twenties and I have been in a lot of the same situations and have had to do a lot of the same things. I really enjoy listening to you videos and seeing you vehicles that you buy and sell. Stay safe.

I had a good idea that it was coming, but even when that C-4 found the ditch it made me cringe. I am not the biggest fan of the early C-4, but once they hit the 90s they started growing on me. You might need to do an uplifting video next. Hearing about the fate of that Vette has me a little down. Either way it was an entertaining story, thank you. #RabbitForWorldPresident

Hey it's me again, back in the early 90's I had the most horrible experience with a Vette, watched a year old C4 go into a shredder, the car was brought to Australia for evaluation of the clutch, I believe an Ozzie company made them, after 1 year car had to go back to the USA or be destroyed, wasn't worth the cost of sending back, so into the shredder it went. Watching two Vette's die in an hour was just wrong, Rj in Oz.

Hummmm. In '96, no keys may not equal no mileage on a GM. On every OBD2 GM I've tried this on, hitting the trip odometer reset button with the ignition off (and no keys) will illuminate the current vehicle mileage. Had an insurance adjuster teach me that trick. I'm not sure how new that trick still works, but in 2012 he acted like it was a normal thing for them all to do it.

I have a 91 C4 (convertible with full digital dash), 06 C6 and '15 C7. I want a C8... C4 is for sale. Too much maintenance and worst generation IMO. In the Arizona sun, all the plastic crap just turns to dust on the C4. Replaced a ton of interior plastic panels and it just sucks.

What’s funny about these I found out if you turn the headlights on, you can see the mileage, so even without a key, so if you’ve got a good battery, and access to the interior, you can see the mileage.

Love corvettes..but NOT a fan of the C4! I know, call me 'crazy'...but the body lines just don't sit well w/my eyes..much prefer the C5 over C4..but I 'respect' what the C4 was to Corvette from a 'brand' point of view! Really fell in love w/the Vette once the C6 hit the market...I know it's not all that great in terms of 'interior'...but those lines are HOT IMHO! Let's not even get to the C8 though! My new dream car! :-)
