Next time you do a smartphone review I suggest you show some usage of it, like opening and closing apps, so we can check the actual speed of the phone plus the screen lag.

Point taken, though I will note that's a balancing act -- it depends on the app, the condition of the phone (other apps running etc) and (for some apps) network conditions as well. Best suited to (when I can) doing a comparative against a similar priced handset with the same app to give an actual comparative view.

Fantastic review, I bought this device and I am quite impressed with the features packed in it for a phone I bought less than 100 USD. Screen, Dolby smart speakers, camera features , NFC, USB-c, 600 nits brightness, smart gestures, face recognition & finger unlock. All pretty good for a phone in this range.

I am an Indian living in Australia and i am thankful to see an Australian gadget reviewer, my friend bought a affordable Samsung device which works good but lacks NFC and because of that he has to keep his bank with him all the time for digital transactions, furthermore in summer phones stops charging during hot day, especially in car when hanging on phone stand. Will definitely love see more videos of gadgets and deals from super electronic stores during festive season.

I was literarely blown away when i heard speakers. 😮 So good quality and so good uncompressed sound i've ever heard!!!! I has very nice balanced sound with cristall clear midrange and bell like highs and both speakers sounds with excatly the same frequencies and with the same loudness! It beats down S20 Ultra for sure!! Very serious quality for a few bucks!!! ⚡️⚡️👍👍 I strongly recomend it to everyone, its a must have phone!!! 👍👍👍

Picked up g84 12gb ram 256 gb storage from jbhifi last month for 334$, it also came with 100$ giftcard making the price down to 234$ which in my opinion was the best phone I could have got for under 250$

Im not really upset that it will only get up to android 14 since im literally watching this video on my old LG V30thinQ that i got, i dont even remember when. Im pretty much just buying this phone for playing light games and play music since i also have a Pixel 7 Pro that i try to keep as new as possible since when i first got it brand new.

I'm also a big fan of blue as a phone colour. The standard reason given is our market size (especially for these cheaper phones) -- it doesn't make as much economic sense to bring in a wide array of colours.

Does it only support 720p resolution in youtube ?? Because when i tried playing videos in youtube there is no 1080p option there.

The display is certainly capable of that -- at best guess, it may be that the video you're trying to play was only uploaded in standard definition.

The issue is only with HDR videos, Seems like a issue on Motorola's side, they will fix it probably. For Non-HDR videos 1080 works in KZbin.

Honestly, it's been a while since I had the G14 in for review - don't recall the audio being anything exceptional for better or worse (and call audio is a different beast -- more often than not, issues with call audio are around network quality, not handset speaker quality).
