Mike!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been doing hair for 25 years and I'm a cutting specialist. I, however, have SUPER DUPER thick hair and I've never had a cut that gave me the movement I wanted. so true my hair is thick not straight but not super wavy it has so much body when I actually get a stylist who knows how to layer convex and take weight out, i love that you have brought attention to this and such a beautiful cut!!!! LOVE IT you are so talented!!!

This haircut is amazing, as someone who also has thick Asian hair I have had bad short haircuts and some good ones. It's all about understanding the person's hair and how it's going to look completely un-styled.

Often fellow Haircutters don’t have the “guts” to take out weight/ cut into it! I know this because clients tell me this and most of the time they use the wrong cutting shears. There’s a different between a texturizing shear and a thinner/ blending scissor.

I like it when you first cut it and maybe a little texturizing scissors to eliminate some bulk but keeping it looking nice and thick. But that's just me. Good job.

Mike! Question! My hair is thick like this but its also super long and curly. I have a similar haircut to take out the bulk and it looks great when I flat iron it. However, when I want to wear it natural it leaves my curls looking frizzy and undefined. What's a good middle ground cut for someone like me who has super thick hair and curls?

There’s a different between a Thinner/ Blending shear and Texturizing shear. In the clip I mainly use a Texturizing shear (larger gaps between the teeth) to remove bulk. This lady had so much hair and that is why I posted this clip. Also when overusing a Thinner/ Blending Shear on such a hair texture that can be terrible. Again; ask your hairdresser to use a Texturizing shear on vertical section to eliminate the bulk this way there won't be cutting lines. Thanks for watching…

(And I even did a couple months at a cosmetology school) i have regular shears and a 2nd pair which i thought were thinning shears, but now im wondering if what i have is thinning or texturizing shears. This cut was amazing, and quick!!! I have such heavy thick long hair. Ive been dying for a haircut for so long, but my last cut was awful, i left in tears! I brought the person at the salon a picture of what i wanted and they did not even come close. The sad part is, the picture i brought was of MYSELF!! From about 2 years prior. Its not like i took a fancy pucture out of a magazine, no, i was very realistic and brought a picture of myself. I just wish the stylist was honest if they arent familiar with thinning hair and cutting thick hair and texturizing. I live in Connecticut, i doubt you do any work here(?)

I wish I had a hairstylist like you. Last year I cut a bob and it looked like a wig.......I won't cut a bob again.....no good hairdresser in SA. I have the exact same hair like her....thick and coarse hair. Hard to cut....n style

Man, I want a stylist, who has the guts to thin out hair like that. I have like double the amount of hair, most people have and it's thick and wavy on top, curly at the neck. It's a NIGHTMARE to deal with. I've even resorted to getting undercuts, even though I don't really like them.
