I'm 49 yrs old from Kalamazoo Michigan. I still have an '87 trx250r survivor I bought in 1999. Original bore, still has cross hatch marks. Equipped with 90's era Dynoport MX pipe and silencer. Pro-lite, V-Force, Roost Boost, replacement OEM plastics. Every other Saturday I wiff the delicious odor of burnt Klotz Super Techniplate as it tries to tear my arms out of their sockets. I WILL NEVER SELL IT. Love the movies! You did great work. Huevos 3 was my favorite. I was big into the soundtrack at the time

I had a kxf 250 tecate. It had a broken power valve stem when I got it. I replaced that and did some seat of the pants exhaust port work at the same time. I also owned an 85 cr500. Added an extra base gasket to it. Between the 2 I can't tell you which was more impressive. They both punched hard. I'm 6'4", also added 4" to the swingarm on the tecate and redid the shock. Yeah, those late 90's early 2000s days before the factory jumped in, were so much fun to walk the pits to check out the bad ass custom built machines.. They were all different, and awesome.. There's a reason why they were all on full custom bikes, cuz the factory frames were made of pot metal.. LMAO.. Really they broke constantly, GNCC is rough on them, but I remember having my front down tubes below where the cross bar for the upper shock mount goes, those two down tubes broke plum in 2 multiple times, the up bar coming up toward your butt from the foot pegs broke many times on mine too.. Then my "custom" frames wouldn't even make it a season without a full tear down to weld.. The youth has no idea how much tinkering it took to make one of these bikes work for a whole gncc race.. Thats why these guys had a crew of dude for a quad.. Bill was just something else, he was a rocket, and reminded me a lot of Bob Sloan, they had a similar style and size. Yokley was just a damn animal, strong AF, and loved competition.. Also had an ego, and mental/physical toughness that was difficult to beat.. Then little Chris Borich showed up and dominated over and over once factory money came in.. Hell, Suzuki even sent us 2 brand new Z400's in 2004 and we weren't even racing the entire schedule.. Just had to sign a contract to start at least 8 of the 14 races, we had to start more than 50% of the races to keep from paying for the bikes at the end of the year..
