Sorry to break it man but it is pre setted up so the camera guys can capture “wild animal footage” For instance it’s kinda really hard to capture wild animal or exotic animals in a footage so they stage it for this really great episode. I don't think any alien from any movie looks more weird and frightening than a lobster, I cant believe people have those on a plate in front of them but scream if they see a tiny spider or mouse
@someguyontheinternet1093
@someguyontheinternet1093 8 жыл бұрын
+ian gee its probably cause we encountered spiders earlier than lobsters so it makes sense that we fear them less spiders are design to scare off predators and they do leave a nasty sting even cause necrosis. so our ancestors evolve to avoid them or destroy. mouse/mice are pest to us and they've cause literal millions of deaths so the instinct to avoid them develop

You'd be surprised. When it comes to saving energy, every form of life looks for the easy way out. If it means bullying away competition to get a good burrow, versus taking the time to make one that leaves you exposed and can potentially be taken away from you later by another bully, then what's the point of taking the time to do it yourself? It's always been nature's playing card; which one is easier, which task will give me greatest reward for the least amount of effort... In a way, we humans do the exact same thing. It's why so many people like the idea of socialism; if there's a chance that you can get some free reward for minimum amount of work, even refusing to do work, then it doesn't matter how small the reward gets, even if it is at the expense of others. It's also why I prefer capitalism; I'd rather keep what I worked so hard for rather than work hard and have some stranger mooch off of what I broke my back and sweated day and night for.
@morningalumni4606
@morningalumni4606 10 жыл бұрын
IRAMantisShrimp While capitalism isn't inherently evil, what has been lauded as capitalism in the United States has more to do with a complete deregulation of policies during the Reagan Era and the subsequent consequences; from a dwindling middle class to policies that protect corporations rather than the people. There is the assumption that we work harder for the money we have and so we deserve it, when really the majority of these 1% are old money and heirs to inheritances that seek to justify their ill-gotten money. These aren't working class people paying their taxes, these are huge corporations that seek to control a majority of the wealth. The sense of entitlement and this self righteous attitude of " I broke my back and sweated day and night" is not uncommon in those who don't understand what a huge component luck is. I get that people, myself included, have invested a lot, put in a lot of time at great personal expense, to pursue education and/or seek out a job that is relevant. I am also well aware of the fact that my circumstances allowed this to be a possibility. We need to stop criminalizing the poor. We need to fund education to remain relevant in this global economy and the need for skilled workers is going to become increasingly important. If you have Netflix, Inequality for All is an interesting documentary that dispels much of the myth associated to "pulling yourself up from the bootstrap." Being poor is less an indication of character than of circumstance. I fear what I see as a modern-age feudal system arising in which the disparity between the wealthy and the poor is justified through such nonsense as "because I deserve it." The ever impressionable Average Joe agreeing wholeheartedly to a system in which only a select few reap the benefits and more commonly, are profiting off the work of others.
@morningalumni4606
@morningalumni4606 10 жыл бұрын
IRAMantisShrimp Anthropologic studies on the natives of Ladahk elucidate a society in which there was no homelessness, no poverty, and no one went hungry. This was a society based on cooperation and sharing. The fear of "cheaters" actually goes against the grain of cooperative species. We are not lobsters despite what our baseline impulses may suggest. We are a society that strives on cooperation. Yes, there will always be cheaters within societies but even in the behavior of bees, cheaters are not tolerated and society will do it's best to eradicate this maladaptive individual through punishment, restitutive or penal. This idea that people will live off the fat of others as you suggest in socialism, occurs in capitalism as well. As a dynamic species, we can choose the type of behavior that is useful to society, nothing is set and change is always possible.
@FunerealObsession
@FunerealObsession 9 жыл бұрын
MorningGlory Glory While I agree with you overall, I'm a bit skeptical of making comparisons between primitivst native societies and the byzantine complexities of modernist life. Even then, a lot of cheaters never get caught because like the best of parasites, they've tricked their hosts into assuming they're beneficial and integral to their continued eexistence.

Long time ago my family had pet crayfish and they had babies, the baby crayfish were about 1mm each and they were the cutest thing i ever saw in the world, i was privileged to see them but sadly they didn’t survive in about 3 days in since they were born. May God Protect our Pets in Animal Heaven.

Because once killed their meat starts to rot fast, the only way to ensure that said lobster is okay to eat, is to kill it by boil or a straight cut while being prepped. It may seem inhumane but if there was a way to kill it more humanely, we would have done so. If you can't stomach the thought, suck it up butter cup.

Carter Evelyn Winggates if you cut open it’s head before boiling it the lobster dies humanely. The meat still tastes the same.
