Thank you! You’re one of the 1st KZbinrs I have seen that explain this in great detail. My hair looks exactly like your 1st client (I also combined my SL to get the number down). Since I’m self maintaining now I feel more confident about what I will do once I get to my 1st milestone length.

You are simply amazing. A true educator! Would you consider doing a course on how how to retie your own sister Locs?

This has helped me tremendously. I started with a lot of heat damage and I wasn't sure if some of my ends were bunching. I tried the technique you shared to correct it and I'm amazed. It worked really well. Thank you

Thank you for the video. It really helps to get thru the process of bunching. I have retightened my hair the last couple of times and have experienced the big bunched end and it did hurt pulling through. It doesn't help that I'm tender headed. Lol. I got thru tho.

Very helpful!!! Can you do a video about how the size of sisterlocks are determined? Are there different sizes? Etc. thank you ❤
@EnToiBeauty Жыл бұрын
Sure can but with any locking method, it's going to be the density that determines the size of Locs

This information has been very helpful. My relaxed ends have been "bunching" excessively making my self re-ties a nightmare. I am 9 months loc'ed so time to ✂️✂️.

So if I have bunching because of my curl pattern with the coil method you said I’m ok I don’t have to worry about anything?

Would a trim before locking have helped? Thanks for sharing.

Hey Pauline how can I fix my locs without cutting them?
@EnToiBeauty Жыл бұрын
If it's not mature yet, you can crochet it

Hi Pauline, I love your videos and you’re willingness to share….true educator. I have a question about my sisterlocks. This past Monday I had my first ever retie after four weeks. I had enough new growth to pinch with my thumb and forefinger. When I went home I started to go through my locs I noticed that nearly all my crown had bunching at the root, not the end or middle, but the section my consultant retied. Is this normal and if not can this be corrected? Should I be looking for someone else? This is driving me crazy. By the way my consultant says it’s normal after I sent her pics. What are your thoughts.
@EnToiBeauty Жыл бұрын
This could be one explanation: sometimes depending on the rotation used, it can cause the loc to want to fold out of the loc so it feels bumpy but it's normal and correct itself as the root loosens up. If it doesn't, she'll just need to make sure it is pulled all the way thru before she starts the interlocking process again.

Thank you for posting this video Pauline!!! Question for you my friend…. With a person transitioning from relaxed to natural (3 inches of new growth, 7-8 inches of damaged relaxed hair) Would you suggest she do a two strand twist or interlock the entire area. Even tho the relax area won’t loc. Just trying to prevent the bunching you speak of.
@EnToiBeauty Жыл бұрын
The bunching may still happen even if you interlock or two strand twist. But interlocking will definitely minimize the bunching if it was to happen. Hope that helps.

I have a lot of bunching... almost every loc. Should i be concerned (because I am 😊). My hair was pretty straight at install but I had not had a perm in years. My curl pattern was different all over.
@EnToiBeauty Жыл бұрын
Did you ever cut off the relaxed part? If not, it's still there but towards the ends. Did you press or blow out? Sometimes depending on curl pattern and texture and how much heat the person use, it just takes one time and you have heat damage. You can always let the bunching grow out and trim as you go to rid the bunching if it's solid. If it's soft, you maybe able to fix thru stretching and crocheting.
@daphnetaylor1066 Жыл бұрын
@En Toi Beauty yes I've had it cut... not a big chop but cut. Some of the locs are now pretty big and I'm concerned about my reties and the hair being able to pass through. I'm only 8 months into my journey. I've tried stretching the locks in the area of the knots and it worked for some and not the others. I've also noticed that my last retie felt tight so I'm wondering if it's from the knots. Sorry to go on, it's just that I've paid a lot and want to make sure they are being done correctly. Some are pretty thin at the root. Thank you for your response. I'm glad I found you on here. Your information is very helpful.

What about henna with sister loc
@EnToiBeauty Жыл бұрын
Yes, you can use henna once your locs are mature as long you haven't been using other colors.

I'm coming up on a year and I have lost 10 locs. Should I be worried. I have 300 locs. And I have to retie certain parts of my hair every 3 to 4 weeks. 3c in the back and 4b in the front. Any advice
@EnToiBeauty Жыл бұрын
Hm? The locs you lost, were they thin to begin with? Around the perimeter? Did you start new medication 3 to 6 months ago? If you have fine hair, is there a lot of tension during retie?

@@EnToiBeauty I realized I was doing my microlocs like my extremely short natural hair. I was coloring it and manipulating it sooooo much. When I think about it I should be surprised I still have hair. I'm starting to do better. This all could have been avoided if would have just treated my locs like locs. Thanks for replying

My hair is bunching and breaking 😢 I haven't had heat or chemicals in my hair in 10+years mostly 3c my edges haven't loc't in 2.5 years. My loctician's theory is its mainly my pattern/s 😢

Curl pattern plays a big role in how your locs develop.
