Y'all got this!! Less is more when it comes to products and moisturizing (imo), oil and water works for me! Find your favorite oil, even a spritz, but stay away from creamy products, cuz that will do nothing but build up in your locs!

I'm about to be at 10 months. My hair has grown quite a bit but I may have some form of alopecia because my scalp is super sensitive and there's breakage at my crown. JBCO and iron tablets have been helping and I've been siding out my retwists for at least 2 months. My last retwist was styled way too tightly 😭😭😭😭 so I'm going to try to hold out 4 months this time. LOVE YOUR LOCS!!!

After the first 4-5 months, I started washing a little more frequently, once I knew my locs wouldn’t unravel lol! But there are ways to refresh the scalp, without dousing your whole head in water/shampoo. It’s especially helpful in the early stages!

Congrats on the year loc anniversary!! I want to loc my hair but scalp psoriasis is hard enough to deal with with loose natural hair. I'd go crazy trying to keep huge scalp flakes out of locs. I retwist my brother and sister's locs so I could use some products for all our hair.

The most talked about tip that i have heard is to drink lots of water and eat well, or as well as you can. UGH!!! I'm too excited!!! SUBBED and FOLLOWING on IG!!!!! VA 24KT Hey! I’m glad this video was helpful! I didn’t cover up my hair until about 3-4 months in, when I was in between retwists. I’m a professional singer, so a lot of times I’d cover my hair for tv/live performances, but I used headscarves, which was really fun :). I still use headscarves, because as you grow into your pic journey, you’ll realize how important they are, and how much energy & power they hold, and you want to protect them! I love wearing my locs out, just as much as I like them covered. The key is to make sure they stay moisturized, with any style you put them in. Hope that helps!

Lavan Campbell I went to the hair salon, I didn’t start them myself. I knew I wanted thick locs, and I knew I wanted triangle parts. I communicated that to my stylist, and let her do her thing!
