A little advice from a 3rd x locker... Enjoy every day of your journey!! Your locks look lovely, embrace them. You will look back on these days and miss the short sassy look. Avoid playing with them. Let them do what they do and they will lock faster. The more you touch, style, play in them, the more you disturb the pattern. Do wash them and don't get overwhelmed by all the products out there. Find out what works for you hair and stick with it. Less is more. Don't over twist them or interlock too tight or they will thin. Good luck! You are off to a good start!!

Thank you for all of the great advice ! I am starting to embrace and actually wear my hair out in public ! This is a great feeling lol but how often should I go to my loc person in these first few months? It's been 5 weeks since my first retwist and I'm scared I've waited too long. I should probably schedule an appointment for next week
@lynnmosby10958 жыл бұрын
It depends on your hair. You need to keep your hair clean though so if you are not washing it yourself, I would make an appointment sooner rather than later. Water also helps your hair loc faster. I wash every two weeks. It's hard when you are just starting because you will have unraveling but you certainly don't want dirty locs. I'll be looking for more videos on your journey!

can u help me plz,I'm in somewhere that I cant aford the things that needed to maintain locs,only I have is shampoo can u help me what to do I'm in saudi
@Bindi_Marc9 жыл бұрын
Carokin Caro Well you're in luck. If you access to good quality water, you already have everything you need. Wash your hair and scalp with shampoo (or plain water if you like) at a frequency that suits you, and spritz your hair with water everyday in between washes. If you're interested in maintaining your roots / new growth.... I'd recommend interlocking or researching "water only retwist." I plan on posting a video demonstrating how to maintain locs with water alone very soon. Good luck.

Peace Lady I just got loc'd 30 Jan. You and I are really close in length. You being an inch or so longer than me. I feel so connected, lol. I got my 1st retwist this past Tuesday, and I'm already budding(so excited). My loctician complimented me on how well I maintained my locs for the month. I told her besides work. I pretty much keep hair covered in a satin beanie www.satinlinedcaps.com I love these caps. I wear these out, in house, and to sleep in(ordered 3). I was really nervous every abt lint and all getting in them. I watched a lot of loc vids prior too. That issue seemed to be a big one for most. Anywho will def keep up w/u. Good luck on journey.
@essijj9 жыл бұрын
Ohhh nice! Thanks for leaving the link, I will def be purchasing one ! Bc my fear is build up/lint in my locs as well! And isn't it so exciting to see budding! I love it! I will be following you too !:) peace
