I did the same thing a month ago. I trimmed mine to look more even. I also don’t twist often. Maybe 3x a year. I go the whole winter without one because I wear hats all winter. I love how thick your hair looks. I also like the roots showing. Definitely unique and beautiful

The roots! It's all about the roots! I agree, not over manicuring the new growth is everything ❤ Take your time, be gentle with your self. Your journey has been inspiring... and it was your first video that inspired me to loc my hair 4.5 years ago. Since then my husband and son have both locked their hair, hoping our daughter will choose the same. Blessings You and Your Family!

Definitely looks better without all of those parts showing. It’s nice and full at the scalp. More power to you. I semi free form too but my hair isn’t as thick as yours.

Girrrl, I LOVE your channel. Your locs, roots, branches are gorgeous. As a mama, I felt ALL of this. I'm 3 years in and semi freeform as well. I can't say where life will take me but for now I do not feel I'll be retwisting anytime soon. Again, I know life can place you in an entirely different space so I wouldn't say Never... I just enjoy separating little by little when theyre freshly washed and simply because I can feel the stragglies getting caught up lol. Anyway, loved this short and sweet video.
