I love this board! I am the absolute target market though... I was skating flight decks because they're mellow and a break boards otherwise. I also skate an 8.25 which is tiny for my massive feet. This is an upgrade in every way for me. The longer kicks give it a bit more pop than a normal flight decks without removing any of the mellowness. The concave over the wings is perfect for the flick and the catch. The square tail keep Ollies and pop shuv super consistent. I can't really sing it praises enough. Again though, it is perfect for what I needed.

And most recently I saw Dan Corrigan do 2 videos and Braille do a video with one of the guys doing a monster flip. Honestly, the more I see on the design, the more I'm sold on in. Only think I haven't heard anyone really mention though. What size trucks are best. Powell really had my aesthetic once, but that time was 1986 and I was 13. I'd try their modern boards but I just can't drop $100 on a deck if I'm not excited by the graphic, even if its gonna get ripped up first session, I gotta be stoked setting it up cause that sets the tone. This one and Andy's graphics in general are the best Powell has done in a long while but still...$100, I need to *need* it. Definitely should set it on your current trucks and wheels though, new trucks always suck and new trucks + not even your normal brand trucks is the stuff of nightmares.

Stay with your set up. While the board is decent. He doesn't re-invent it. I have both a regular 8.25 flight deck and The Baby Heron. The Heron has wheel bite problems, even with 1/8 in. risers and small wheels. I've had mine for about two months and it's life is already pretty much already over. It now sits in the corner most of the time. While my regular flight seems to be holding up despite harsher treatment? And it responds better to both vert and flat ground. I wouldn't exchange my regular set up for this board...maybe sample one first before you decide.
@tonyn50557 ай бұрын
Board madness lmao. I think that's how I ended up with this board. You watch his video on it. And he's talking about how his first two boards made an egg and out of the egg came the Baby Heron? I would call that madness too. Dude has already had like 4-5 models is what I'm hearing. And he actually puts down the egg. A year ago it was the best thing since sliced bread? I still think they're pretty cool.

Not gonna lie, I love this board, but I am the target market 🤣 I skate an 8.25 flight deck because they're mellow and the size makes it easy to flip. This is still mellow with longer kicks that give you a bit more pop and the concave over the wings is a massive improvement too. I love the square kicks as well this is really noticeable on Ollies and pop shuvs. My only fear is how bad it may delam over the protruding parts.

@DenKwonDo Жыл бұрын
Personally, i dont think yall shouldve used this footage to base your opinion on the board itself, as the review was supposed to be specifically about Andys board, and not a combination of his board, the trucks, and the wheels. I honestly believe that you owe it to Andy and your viewers to do a redo with your trucks and wheels on his board, and then do a new review. I watched Braille Skateboardings review on Andys board and his wheels, and their review was nothing but positive, even to the point of them believing that his board design would revolutionize skateboarding, as per their testing the board helped them with literally every trick they did, and even made it possible for one of them to land a Monster flip, that appeared as though they hadn't landed it before. I seen Andys comment thanking you for an 'honest' review, but in all fairness that is not what this review was, as it was more of an honest review of how and why you shouldn't do reviews on a deck with new trucks and a wheel size that doesn't appear to be he the size you usually use. Just my 2 cents and corrective criticism.

i get the idea behind this board but its just too expensive to consider in a quiver. In a price range of a re-issue/shaped deck. Plus the weight aspect is a no no for me in transition/airs. IDK i dont like the board feeling too light when air dropping off the lip into transition or doing airs/ollie airs. You get this a sensation like you have a lack of board feel/presence under your feet in those scenarios then BOOM the impact. IMO a heavier board gives me a better sense of confidence/board feel/control. But i guess for some indoor park skating or dark slide/for science moments. If you happen to have the money to spare as a skater its probably a potential hit or miss situation but im sure its pretty worthwhile Looks like a lot of investment went into this board/tech. I remember when i went from using 2 used snowboards/bindings etc setups to a fresh Jib noodle with tech implementations and BOOSTED pop in the nose/tail. Definitely put a smile on my face to be able to do late/slushy day runs and have pop on command in a park/box/rail run. Those chuckles and etc showed the potential this board had on the table for me thats exactly why i quiver theres always a something a board/shape DEFINITELY delivers on that others just cant due to inherent aspects. IDK if im that vested though as a skater. Too many different truck brands/widths/baseplates/hollow etc to try out and wheel sizes/blends/profiles before im willing to consider a 100$+ deck. If i had a kid that wanted one though Id probably get it and toss some rails on it it would probably last a long time possibly shave it down and drill new mounting holes for someone smaller. Also as you get older/injured/on the mend...shapes/boards like this and hollow/thunders or venture lows. Is an entirely different "skate" and much easier to maneuver etc...if you really have the HUNGER but a heavier/larger setup is a bit more work/strains you. At times with tears/etc....i could stick to mini ramp/strict coping/air activity bc i couldnt really pop or flick tricks. Its what caught my attention towards these "TECH" boards/shapes/hollows I mean if you store it properly i bet it would retain pop for a LONG time if you quiver one of these. I mean this board definitely has my attention/curiosity. Its just the second i see an 8.38 mini egg, grimple football etc....i jump on it to stash even if i dont need one bc its my GOAT.
