The scoop you noticed from yuto is something very key to getting this trick. Since you’re goofy imagine the scoop in the shape of a Nike logo. It POPS and scoops forward . Since I skate regular I imagine a mirrored Nike logo and while keeping my weight slightly back, it allows my board to stay under me

For more flip put your foot more in the pocket and hang your toes off MORE. For more pop put your foot closer to the tip of the tail. Find your happy medium between those 2. Remember learning to Tre flip takes time, so put in as much practice as you can. If you get frustrated do some other tricks that you have on lock. Also aim for you back heel wheel. So if you skate regular than it would be the back left corner wheel. And if you skate goofy then the right corner wheel if that makes since

Yes, but in my case I noticed when I started focusing on my back foot scoop instead of my flip my tres would pop real nice and high and catch them, like my pop shuvs, but when I focus on the front foot flick I land them more often but with barely any pop and they definitely dont stay under me that much, I think its about focusing on the scoop but putting your front foot in a position where the flick is almost inevitable. But id say best tip could be keeping your shoulders like this, it has helped me a lot. It also depends on your aprosch you know? I got back after 10 years of not skating and varial flips were my cheese back then, but my foot positioning was eay diferent, my front foot was really close to my back foot just like yutos tre flip position, but thats because I was seeing and aproaching varials like half tres instead of pop shuvs with a flip, now that I got back to it im using a foot position for my varials Id never thought id use back then, but now my varials pop higher , the flip doesnt look as fast as before but the trick itself to me looks and feels better, so I think thats very interesting, Id never analyze a trick like that back then, also I never knew what a hardflip was I just knew what it looked like, there wasnt much info about it back in mid 2000s like there is now with youtube so omce I understood harsflips were just ft shuvs with a flip made me eager to come back and just this friday I landed one, its crazy cause im still steuggling with my kickflips but im landing treflips and hardflips lol
@time4passions6123 жыл бұрын
the thing that unlooked it for me was to scoop forwards an lean back. just look at nyjahs and yutos scoop.. their ankle bands back and than forwards in one motion.. i think its also important to not lean foward when you start scooping... just concentrate that you stay central over the board and put your ass more down behind your knees.. you can clearly see that yuto doesnt have to jump that much foward (or I mean to the side) like you... try thes 3 tips and you will master them ;) another fourth secret tip: i tried to learn siccors with my tre flips and it helped to practice pop shuvits with siccors first... and then when you go for the tre you just think you gor for a pop shuv but scoop harder and go for the tre... maybe it is placebo but mentally it helped me a lot.. just the thinking that a tre isnt harder than a simple pop shuv :D
@bigbongtokes7073 жыл бұрын
heres my tip. front foot right in the middle of the board, with your foot about halfway on. point your front foot at a 45 degree angle in front of you and just ever so slightly duck stance your back foot. when you pop its not so much a hard scooping back motion but a jump up with a little toe scoop. after you pop and get that upwards motion just kick your front foot 45 degrees in front of you like you had it angled and then use the front foot to aim and catch it. practice some by just doing that motion and getting the front foot catch down without the back foot. thats what works for me. hope it helps
@swag72973 жыл бұрын
One thing that helps me a lot is to scoop more forward than backwards. If you notice, Yuto's back foot doesn't move too much, he kinda flicks it forward and that gives a boost to the scoop and it also allows the board to spin underneath you. It works for me 👌🏼
@18ps3anos Жыл бұрын
What helped me understand the scoop for tre flips was doing the ollie impossible with just the back foot, leaving the front foot off the board the whole time. Doing it a bunch of times helped me understand the motion and also warm up for it. Then when attempting the tre flip, you just don't wrap the back foot around the board - instead keep the initial motion until the pop and get it out of the way. The front foot doesn't need to flick that much. Just its starting position is enough to help the board flip the right way, and your scoop puts everything into motion.
@cptcarl833 жыл бұрын
One thing I noticed with both Yuto and Nijah beyond the pop shuv flick and squared shoulders. They ever so slightly bend at the waist and no jumping to the side. They do the trick pretty much straight up and down keeping the board on a straight line. They don’t jump to the side or lean forward to create power for the pop/flick. IMO they pop and scoop pushing the board forward towards the direction of their front foot over popping and scooping behind them. I practiced stationary tres on a small rug 3x4ish to keep the board up and under me. The rug is base all else is lava. It’s helped setting those boundaries.
@thisbadmonkey3 жыл бұрын
Interesting. If you look at yutos back foot, he places it really flat on the tail, not just the tip of his foot. That's exactly what I figured out yesterday. That way your back foot has much more room to do the desired movement to accomplish the scoop with maximum power but with much less effort. It makes so much sense if you just only think about it. How should you be able to do a proper pop-scoop motion if your foot is already stretched out before you've even done the motion.
@assheismyheart2 жыл бұрын
Scooping it with the back foot is the way to make it flip and pop at the same time. I always had the flipping part under control. The problem was that it flipped perfectly, but miles away from my feet. They key for me to keep it under my feet, was my shoulder and back positioning. If your goofy, you need to keep the right shoulder above your front foot. Then when you start popping, you need to jump up like a stiff pole. Your body is only moving up and the board will be fliking under your feet. If you tend to lean to far forward, your board will also go forward. It's the same if you lean to much backwards. So the learning process is, to get the scooping right. Once that's done. Learn to keep your front shoulder above your front foot and jump while keeping a straight back above your board.
@aliveanew22723 жыл бұрын
Two things helped me. 1. The more I rotate my front foot to be more parallel with the board, the better the rotation. I was under rotating as well. 2. Jump higher and focus on jumping up, not forward. Try as much as possible to keep the board directly under you, rather than jumping forward to catch it. I also watched *someone ( can't remember who) do a frame by frame of Jordan Mourning doing a waist high Treflip K grind, and what I saw was that his front foot Didn't even flick, it just provides enough counter pressure to catch the edge of the board as the back the back foot scoops. When I started thinking about my Treflips like that, I started landing them more consistently. I can do them like 3 out of 5 tries now.
@amdg010073 жыл бұрын
Vertical pop Shoulder Wrap into front foot Should discount from front foot at 90 then reconnect with 90 degrees left Pushing it forward You should feel the front front releases the board last, and catches it first as well Lmk

25 years skating and I still don't have these on lock, but for me it's two things: 1 get in the right stance and forget about any specific scooping or flicking and just focus on jumping on your board. 2 but a little speed makes these lots easier to scoop for me, especially on asphalt. Feels like you have more friction to push through when you're going slow or standing still.

What fingerboarding taught me is that no matter what the board will flip if you pop while you have your toes hanging off and your front foot/finger off the board and kind of give it any little bs shuv motion so the board is rotating close to 90 degrees before popping, for me it made it much easier to think about the motion of the back foot for me. 5:55 the steez... :o

Subscribed because we're both old and have dad bods weighing us down lol. I've been skating 20+ years but with multiple 4-5 year gaps where I stopped skating so it always sucks to relearn everything. I currently have my tre flips back, the scoop is more important than anything but you also have to have that pop to scoop ratio to actually get a decent tre off the ground and looking nice. And yeah you figured out the same thing I did a long time ago, for most tricks just keep the top half of your body still and over the board and, don't slightly rotate or open your chest (which seems to come natural) but it's the main reason the board gets away from you.
@likespinningpats2 жыл бұрын
2 secrets unlocked them for me. Shoulders over the grip and the scoop. I had been scooping wrong for years. I was pulling my foot straight back behind me but the back foot needs to scoop with a J shape and kinda push the back of the board forward to help speed up the 360 spin.

I found the best way to get a solid snap was to create a little bit of pressure, so flicking foot your almost pushing down a bit like an ollie and back foot more down and across like a pop shove, once your ready you just kind of jump and release the pressure rather then trying to pop it like a kickflip.

Jump straight up, not out!! You’re chasing the board. Also when you were talking about the vertical scoop in the beginning you were right on the money! But then when you were practicing you were still scooping hard horizontally. I think the more horizontal scoop is directly linked to jumping out and chasing the board. The hard horizontal scoop leads to you having to chase the board, or you anticipating chasing your board is leading to a more horizontal scoop. Your tres have improved a lot though! You have the fundamentals in your head exactly right, it’s just a matter of practice now. The only advice I would give is concentrate on the fundamentals every single time you try the trick.
@lkthangin2 жыл бұрын
Try throwing some with your front foot under the front bolts almost in an Ollie position with your foot as perpendicular to the board as possible (not angled). It feels SUPER awkward at first but the board will flip perfectly every time and it makes no sense. Thinking about it a little further, I think this foot position just forces me to stay more closed while throughout the trick

The problem is the jump and movement of the back foot so it stays over the board. It’s very hard to jump with the same foot that fracture of a second earlier performed powerful scoop. Tuck the knee after the scoop? Forget it. This is what mainly makes this trick so dificult. Yet no tutorial talks about this part, everybody focus on the scoop instead, part that you can learn within a day if you’re talented/lucky, or a week at most if you are average skilled skater.
