Adam that was impressive catching them in 30’ of water. Been wanting to upgrade my cast net to a fast sink. Thank you for sharing. John Hakala

Spot on brother! There comes a time when your back and shoulders makes you learn about bait patterns. I'd rather scan water, and watch water temps, than to just sling a net all morning!

One thing to keep in mind is that water is it's heaviest (denser) at 39 degrees, so the coldest water may not be at the bottom during winter, it may be the warmest

Would you apply the same thought process during hotter months just in reverse?
@nauticalpridesportfishing82132 жыл бұрын
Bait during the summer depending on where you are in the country, lake or river can very quite a bit. If we're talking about gizzard shad specifically they are typically limitless in rivers as there not confined by there environment, becoming proficient with your electronics will really help you out alot. In lakes it's a little different because you have to contend with the thermocline
@WindowLicker4542 жыл бұрын
@@nauticalpridesportfishing8213 Well I'm fishing mainly the Rappahannock around hicks landing, wasnt doing so well with cast nets so I got a gill net. Works well for me but i guess as it starts to get colder i may be forced to learn to throw a net better lol
@nauticalpridesportfishing82132 жыл бұрын
Ah ok your local, yeah that stretch can be slightly tougher for gizzards sometimes because there isn't as many places to stretch your net as there is further down the river. Gill nets can be sank in deeper water if your not having much luck with a cast net by adding floats to your top line
