The value of this video is immense. It shows the supremacy of man vs equipment. Most professional videographers could not do this with a truckload of ARRI gear. It shows the difference between a videographer and a filmmaker.

Hey Anders, just wanted to say thank you for making this video back in 2010. You inspired me to buy this camera 10 years ago and were definitely a huge influence for me to get into filmmaking. All the best and I hope one day we get to meet! :)

@silentcovenant It has been a couple of years since I last edited video on a PC, but I think the best editing software out there is Vegas... You can do all the same adjustments as I did in Color, in Vegas! Just by adjusting the contrast, brightness, saturation and colors :)

I don't know why this looks so awesome. Maybe it's the color correction, maybe the smoke, maybe the dynamic cinematography, maybe the lighting, maybe the creepy eerie feeling, or mabye all of those put together. This is some stunning footage. It looks like it came from a michael bay movie (minus the crappy story, explosions and epic music).

@wongsonny Thanks :) Record in FULL HD 25fps, import with the EOS patch in FCP (it was still not optimized for the 550D, but you can find an easy hack on the internett to make it work with 550D), edit in FCP, colorgrade in Color and export as H.264 1920x1080 8000kbit/sec with Compressor :)

Stunning! I'm off to think about whether to get the 550D or 60D. The kit lens is really not that bad, no matter what the L-snobs say. I have the 500D with the 18-55mm and it takes seriously good pictures. Video too, but I'm crippled by the automatic video. Anyways, a great film, well shot, fantastically framed, edited and colour corrected. And the music really works. Good work! Subscribed, as I want to see more of this.

As this is requested so often... could you please describe your way of color correcting? It looks amazing. How to achieve this? What program is used? Manual correction or use of any presets?
@Andyax14 жыл бұрын

It actually is a great piece of work! Guys I really need to beg for your help, I got my 550d 2 days ago which came with a 18-55 canon IS (stabiliser). The sick part is when I zoom in and out the lens aperture changes step by step, makes a very stupid clicking noise (not that loud but obvious on the built in microphone) and changes the light-intake at the same time by a recognisable step. First I thought my lens was faulty but went to the store tried different cams and lenses same story ?!!!

you are a freakin' genius! this video is insane! i have a canon rebel t2i, and i wish i knew how to get my videos to look as professional as yours do, but I wouldn't even know where to start!
@DavidAcampora14 жыл бұрын
@ntchi I haven't done a side-by-side comparison yet, but with some of the preset Scene File plug-ins you can find online, I'm getting about 10-12 stops of useable latitude on the T2i. I think the RED is somewhere around 13-14? So for about 16 thousand dollars less, you get a slightly inferior sensor.

my question is on the focusing..You cant use auto focus as it flashes diff iso computing and it keeps adjusting until its happy. So I guess its manual but how do you get it so seamless by just looking at the view screen on the cam. When walking around how do you keep up as your moving and the subject is moving as well. Thanks...looks awesome
@mandycri14 жыл бұрын
This camera looks great, as does the video, well done! My only concern is the manual focus, especially with the kit lens. Was it hard to get things in focus, moving people in particular?

Love the look of this video. I've had to the T2i myself for about 2 weeks now, and have been trying to shoot video myself. However, I can't get my video to look like film in post production. Even after shooting in 25fps and color correction, it still has that crisp video look. Sorry, I'm new to filming, but I was wondering, do you do something to the video in post production? Are you doing something to the frame rate,compression, or picture quality? How do you get that smooth film look? Thanks
