Greetings from Athens, Greece! I love your videos, I just wanted to add that the sauce you used on the white bream is not made with butter, rather than olive oil and lemon and in Greek, it's called ladolemono (literally meaning olive oil and lemon)! Keep up with the good work!

Hello & thank you for your video! Do you know hiw the weather is in March? And how was the nightlife when you went?
@locavore_eats3 жыл бұрын
Not sure what the weather is like in March since we went in February but I'm sure it'll be a bit sunnier! Nightlife was pretty much non-existent when we went as a lot of shops/restaurants close for the winter off-season. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

Dude very informative video. Please answer 3 questions for my upcoming trip Xmas day to January 7 (Athens). If i stop over in some of these islands like Santorini or whatever will it still be enjoyable during this time?... Are the prices for food and souvenirs still the same or cheaper? And lastly what should I expect weather wise on the island in winter/off-season? Thanks man
@locavore_eats3 жыл бұрын
Hello! Thanks for watching our vid 😊 It'll be enjoyable depending on what you want. If you don't mind the lack of nightlife and most stores being closed then you'll defs enjoy the peace and quiet which we certainly did. Not sure about the prices for food and souvenirs as we don't know what they're like during other times of the year. Weather was a mixed bag for us although it never rained hard. It wasn't too cold. Half the time it was grey and gloomy while the other half was perfectly clear weather so I guess it's a bit of a gamble 😊

Dude-I was in the US Air Force and stationed on the Island of Crete for 8 years back in the late 80s-90s. I took many very trips there during that time when I had family visiting. I returned in 2019 after almost 35 years with my wife who was never there. We were there early July, OMG it was so crowded. Let me tell you things have changed there. We had a car rental and found it so stressful to find places to park. Tour buses, scooters, ATV;s and tourist all over. There were very few places to park. We were only there for 3 days and couldn't wait to leave for Crete. The island is so crowded in Summer. The day we left I counted 4 cruise ships anchored out. The shore shuttles and buses crowd the port like you can't imagine. The heat is unbearable. I'm glad you had a chance to enjoy it with your family. You picked a perfect time..

Wow sounds like a real hectic summer indeed!! And yes we were so fortunate to visit Santorini during the winter and have the island to ourselves, truly a dream come true!!

Hey brother love video just want to ask what should be the budget for food on daily basis for 2 people with all three meals in santorini
@locavore_eats3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Around €25 - €50 per meal would be alright depending on your budget as we found that food in Santorini can be a bit more expensive too 😊 Thanks for watching!!

Love all the content! Glad I found your channel (new sub) since I’m planning a Greek vacation for June (🤞🏽). What are some of the restaurants that were on your list and were closed?
@locavore_eats3 жыл бұрын
Hello and thanks for subscribing!! Hope your plans follow through I'm sure it'll be great! Here are some of the places that were closed that we wanted to visit in Santorini: Katina Fish Tavern, Oia Pitogyros, Oia Tsipouradiko, Thera Ladokolla, Thera Kira Niki Tavern, Karterados (wasn't closed, we just came at a time when they ran out of food) Metaxi Mas, Exo Gonia Also I wasn't sure if you were asking about Athens too but all the restaurants we wanted to go to there were open. Hope this helps!!!!

I'm not sure as we visited on January but I would imagine February to still be pretty empty and shut up similar to our visit in January. I think Feb is the coldest month too. Thanks for watching!!

Sorry not sure what it's like there at that time as we went in mid-Feb
@renata16402 жыл бұрын
Hi , I'm Greek and even though I don't live in Santorini I can tell you that mid December is considered early winter for sure . The coldest months in Greece in general are January( mid January) and February( early February), so in December the temperature won't even be that low.
