Kev, I hear you on the maps. I only have the Pacific module, but I bought the 4X maps, too. They look great and it’s easier determine who’s in what hex. I also like the beach graphics, too. These smaller companies have been doing a bang up job in the last 10 or 11 years or so. You had Legion with the “easy punch” counters and Revolution with their absolutely great playtesting and both select some nice unique topics. Lock N Load with the 4X maps also has found their niche. I don’t things have been this good in the hobby as far as design since The Gamers came out with their series and graphics have never been this good almost across the board. Case in point, Rick Barber’s maps for Hermann Luttmann’s Blind Swords system, or Compass with the maps for the CSS.

very good point. Lots of up and coming firms bring fresh quality improvements, and fresh ideas as the old guard does its thing.

I'm missing the 3" deep boxes on a couple of the Tactical series releases (I', looking at you, Heroes of the Motherland) and am looking into reboxing a couple just to fit the X-maps I bought for them. Now I'm planning on getting at least two of the 4K series, but boxing them will be a challenge. But, this is one of those problems that I can live with, though. We live in such a great time to be wargamers, and I'm not going to let storage challenges interfere with the fun to be had. Those 4K maps look great.

How do you feel about LnL VS other tactical level games (especially Mark Walker games; 65 and Old School Tactical)? Im looking into trying a tactical game. Heard Old School Tactical was basically LnL but with better rules and less complications.

Old School Tactical is a solid game. I like it for WW2. My preference for Modern is LNLT. The LNLT for WW2 is not something I have had a load of exposure with. I've played 3-4 games of OST now. With the rules fixes vehicles are much better and the game for me plays about the same time. The question come sdown to components, map size and the tracking required for OST. that is something each individual would need to sort out for them selves.
