Excellent video! Two out of three jobs on my to do list today. The potatoes being the first. My good lady is in hospital and at the back of the vegetable cupboard there is a half bag of potatoes gone to seed, I've got some potato sacks and am going to plant them out. Don't like putting them in the ground as they get eaten by little black slugs. I have a lot of compost and manure in bags so will mix this up and plant out using your method. Number two the washing machine, having watched you do it I will try the same method, To my knowledge its not been cleaned in five years and this will be a nice surprise for the wife when she gets home. Nothing needs concreting at present but that does not mean it won't come in handy in the future. I know you can't wait to get back out there fishing, but I have found a lot of your videos during lockdown easy to follow and useful on jobs around the house. Now they have relaxed the social distancing laws you will no doubt get back to fishing. I just want to thank you for the many useful and interesting videos you have released during lockdown that have taught me how to do certain jobs. You and your family keep well and I look forward to the fishing.

I had an allotment for 8yrs, had to give it up when I went to M-F working wk! (Was on a 4on 4off) then a grandaughter appeared! We bought a bag of salad potatoes for £1 from Asda, a week later they had all chitted. My wife was going to throw them out, but took them to our plot and planted them! A couple of months later, filled a 56lb potato sack with them! For the next 4yrs, never bought seed potatoes, and always had great crops!

potatoes are a great plant to grow and so easy just dunk them in the ground or in a pot and they will go! here in the Netherlands, we have a soft lockdown so there are still markets twice a week and I went to them to find slightly off potatoes aka the ones with shoots then ask if I could use it for planting and hey presto fee potato! I went for a different type each time. another great thing about potatoes is they will grow no matter what as long as it isn't too cold so you can keep on planting until later in the year and with the softer winters of the last decade the later in the year I planted the deeper I put them they might not come up but next year they will so for the last years I put my June harvest in the ground in late October I even tried growing them indoors in the winter but it only works if you have a roof window and a daylight lamp to prolong the growing hours and a November plant will be harvestable in April. a nice note is that red potatoes have purple flowers and the standard spud has white flowers and some varieties have male or female flowers.

I don't know myself..I bought them new about 5 years ago .First 2 years great show, then gradual deterioration until they all come up blind, with no bloom .I leave them in each year, not lift them.Maybe I also hit them down too soon so they don't get nutrients from the decaying stems ? I should maybe have bent the stalks over and banded them with elastic like I have seen elsewhere.

Well it has Quinine in it and that has been used in fight against Malaria for many years. Well the combo of Zinc and Quinine is the medicine the scientists were on about at start of this pandemic.
