Have you ever checked for worms or parasites? Ive had IBS symptoms for years and did multiple stool tests and a colonoscopy. I even paid for a comprehensive stool tests and no sign of parasite or worms. I recently i found a worm in my stool and this has made sense because i had researched quite a bit and researchers like Dr Klinghardt believe that based on his experience with patients parasites and worms are usually far up the GI tract often so far up they don't show up on tests. Dr Klinghardt believes they are often the root cause of health issues but modern medicine often doesn't pick this up. They are really common and around 1 in 3 people have them. But thank you for your journey and videos its nice listening to someone going through similar issues.

I understand the pain and cramps that happen quickly. It’s because of the gastrocolic reflex. When we eat signals are sent to the intestines to move along stools and start squeezing. My gastroenterologist told me that in IBS this gastrocolic reaction is more intense ! I find it’s worse with heavy, large meals, greasy foods and caffeine. So I get a double peak, cramps after eating then cramps the next day from the food itself! So definitely very real!

When my country went into house lockdown, I had the worst symptoms for the first three days of it - nothing changed dietwise, so I'm pretty sure it was just the increase in stress! It still amazes me how much the different systems within our bodies are interconnected and affect each other :)

Oh my, yes! Time of the month and I'm older and going through more hormonal changes and I DEFINITELY notice a difference in my gut at that time. More nausea, worse cramping, super tired, just BLAH!

I’ve found my way to your channel while having one of my worst constipation “episodes.” I don’t have an IBS diagnosis, but I need one badly. I can’t live like this. Too much pain. I need help. I’ve just started getting out of a mental health crisis, and now I’ve hit this for weeks. And it’s depressing!!! I can’t live and function with all of this pain and constipation.

My ibs has got way worse in lockdown, before lockdown I would get IBS-d (usually on IBS-c side but really bad flare ups cause IBS-d) like once every 6 weeks give or take. Recently during lockdown I had 3 bouts of IBS-d within days of each other and my diet hasn't changed so I can only imagine it's stress. Just glad I'm not at work atm

I've really struggled with my gut since lockdown! I used to just be intollerant to gluten but now, since lockdown, I've developed a really bad intolerance to dairy especially around my time of the month 😔 I've been super sensitive to other stuff to and I do think it's the stress, extra food, no routine and just everything else! I agree with the time too, I now can eat something and within 5 minutes be in pain. Hopefully it will improve for us all!

Yes, I deal with being over full and having too many veggies. I’m feeling more pain and bloat these days. I feel better when I cut out the fiber, just meat and broth. Yes we are all different. I can’t eat to many sweet potatoes either. Love seeing mark and having him share. The gut is a hard thing to figure out, I also have microscopic colitis which makes this whole gut thing even harder. 🧡stay healthy.

Time of the month adds to it, snacking too often, over-eating at meals when I know I can handle a bowl size and not a plate size. Its hard when the fridge is right there, so alot of self disclipine! Practice practice practice! Lol... I can completely relate to this!

Becky, I totally relate. My mood is shocking when I’m having a flare. Everyone can sense it and I, just so down and fed up. I had sweet potato a few days ago and the nausea and bloating has been awful. Also time of the month, I agree. Always see more flares at this point. Sending love x

I have about 3-6 ‘good’ IBS days per month, during those days I can honestly say I feel on top of the world, I am definitely so much happier when my gut is calm and happy. My symptoms have been much worse since lockdown, it’s that whole uncertainty about life. I don’t think my causes are just one thing:- food, anxiety, the weather, my cycle all have an impact on my gut, no two days are the same which is so frustrating. I’ve started to listen to a 100 day IBS hypnotherapy download, I’m keeping my fingers crossed over that one 🤞

Do you have constant pain that gets worse and lessens (but it's still kinda painful/uncomfortable) and it lasts for upwards of a week at a time? I've been really concerned about this and I'm worried

I’m sorry to hear that you aren’t feeling well at this time :/ Bloating and gas for me are unreal - I’ve tried to do so many elimination diets over the past few years and never could do it for more than a month or so each time. But the lockdown has proven the beat time to do it so I’m trying Low FODMAP elimination again and it really seems to be going well! All the best from the US - feel better you both!

These past days I'm glad I can work from home because I've been feeling quite bad having a lot of pain and I've had to literally RUN several times to the bathroom (IBS-D), which would be very uncomfortable if I was at the office.

Hello 👋. Thank you for this video, don’t hesitate doing more videos like this one, with Mark talking about IBS. it’s rare to see videos about men dealing wit IBS, and as an IBS sufferer guy, I really appreciate that. . I love your videos so much. IBS is such a complicated and taboo situation, that it’s always comforting to listen to Other people with the same condition. You suffer with IBS-C, but what about Mark ? Take care !

After two ER visits with stomach pain my doc said I may have IBS. So I have subscribed here. I'm in the crying stage, because I miss being able to eat whatever I want. But the stomach pain is the worst. I do think Covid-19 sent my gut over the edge. Also for the last three months my symptoms came around my monthly. I'm trying not to be depressed about it. Do you guys find joy in eating again?

I recently got diagnosed with H.Pylori and all the symptoms you described I have had You may want to get checked for H.Pylori but I would suggest to go the natural route to get rid of it if you have it I went the pharmaceutical way and it made my gut issues worse by the end of it the natural way is the best way I feel to get rid of h pylori

Sometimes pain immediately after eating could be a symptom of a nonfunctioning gallbladder. I had horrible issues after eating slightly fatty foods and after many tests it turned out to be a nonfunctioning gallbladder. Even though I had it eventually removed I still have issues eating foods higher in fat.

Sorry you're not having a good time with your tum. I had similar symptoms for a few years but managed to heal myself, I found out I had SIBO, maybe you should get this checked out?? Especially as you are on low fodmap? I was on low fodmap for a year, and a nutritionist said to me it's not meant to be done for more than 3 months, and that it means there is something wrong with my immune system if the SIBO isn't clearing. Fodmaps are actually very important and feed the beneficial bacteria in our stomachs!! So you want to heal yourself soon so you can start eating them again. Some things I did that I suggest you do: - Do not buy gluten free processed foods from the supermarket, this includes breads etc.. they are full of preservatives and fillers that is bad for our tums and immune systems. When I buy nut milk I don't even buy alpro as it has emulisfiers, but I have an organic brand instead which does not contain these. 'If man made it - don't eat it.' I now make my own organic gluten free bread but didn't eat gf bread on sibo diet. - I'm not sure if you're already seeing a nutritionist but it would be important to see one that knows about healing to SIBO. (If you think you have) Only a nutritionist can also prescribe you with the right antifungals that help kill the bacterial overgrowth in your stomach. They can also provide you with a special diet to do that will help heal the SIBO. - Use digestive enzymes. - Quit sugar for a year and then introduce natural sugars but use sparingly. (I ended up quitting it for 3 years) - Work on your immune system, this is some advice that really helped the last bit of my SIBO clear. This includes getting to the root of hidden food intolerances, not consuming artificial/natural flavourings/packaged foods. Take Vitamin D etc and probiotics/Vitamin C. Btw, I am coeliac too and that is a risk factor for SIBO, as well as low stomach acid!! Oh my god yes this really helps too - fixing your tum acid. You can try celery juice in the mornings as well as taking digestive enzymes. A immunologist or nutritionist can prescribe the right dose of HCL Pepsin to help your stomach acid if it is REALLY bad. Low stomach acid actually causes a lot of health issues. If you used to take omneprezole this can permanently affect your stomach acid as it hacks your body into not producing as much. (I used to take them - it's very bad really as we now know excess stomach acid does not cause acid reflux but rather lack of and acidic foods) Ageing also causes low stomach acid - this allows the SIBO to proliferate as food starts to ferment. The symptoms of SIBO are: pain in the stomach, especially after eating bloating cramps diarrhea constipation indigestion regular feeling of fullness gas b12 anaemia Hope this helped, any questions let me know. :) I remember when I cried when I couldn't eat onion for 3 years and tried introducing it, and then when I could finally have it I cried of happiness LMAO. The stomach takes a very very long time to heal, but it does get better. :)

wow so helpful thank you, i get really bad stomach cramps like period cramps and it confuses me cause my period doesn’t start until after 2 weeks along with gas and diarreah. I’ve been taking the yogurt probiotic everyday and it’s been 2 weeks so far that i’ve been feeling good and last night i got the cramps with gas again after i ate 2 boiled eggs with hashbrowns :/ i used olive oil to fry the hashbrowns and maybe that was the issue? how long do you think i need to be strict on what i eat after i feel no more pain.
@oldenough154 жыл бұрын
@@2r380 I would recommend a gut healing diet like SCD diet/Paleo. I would drink bone broth daily with a little l-glutamine. L-glutamine helps to heal the lining cells. I started to develop intolerances from my poor gut health but when I could eat fermented foods again that helped. So with the hash browns were they frozen? Had sunflower oil in them? I don't touch sunflower or rapeseed oil foods now as it increases inflammation. Inflammation can cause stomach pain, any disease in body etc. I love hash browns too but if I was to touch them it would be once every 4 months now or something, but fried foods really are out for me now. I used to have issues with digesting them but don't now, it's more for my health I don't have. If you just made with olive oil It could be a bile issue and maybe your body isn't digesting the fat well. I would recommend digestive enzymes to help your body break down the food. I also would recommend SYMPROVE probiotic, its a probiotic that is funded by the NHS and really helped me, has some really good strains. You can get it online. I would not recommend this yet if you are having pain from fermented foods though, check out symptoms of sibo, or it could be ibs without sibo. I would say you should try something like specific carbohydrate diet or candida diet for 3-6 months and then slowly introduce foods, then take out ones that bother you. I dieted on and off for 3 years usually 6 month at time. The diets I did were candida diet, SCD diet with low fodmap, SCD diet with low histamine, then just low histamine. I would recommend that you see a nutritionist for sure that specialises in gut issues so that you can get some tests done/root of issues. It does get better I promise! I no longer get stomach pain/issues from foods, just migraine now and only if have had too much bad food. You should see nutritionist for sure as our health is most important.

I'm new to having ibs and my doctor says it "might" Be ibs, so I'm not sure if it's normal to have pain this long.
