have to cook garlic and sweet onions until soft, avacado's must be totally soft most folks use them when they are not fully ripe and fiber has not softened. Tofu and lactose free cheese turns into concrete plugs for me. canned tomatoes, make sure they are skinless, fiber is in the skin. Cook to fully soft any yam, potato, squash and don't get near the skins, even if skin is cooked. I scrape the seeds out of my cucumbers. extra firm tofu, fried in olive oil with spices....yum...

This has been SO helpful to me!! Thank you! 😃 I LOVE LOVE LOVE mushrooms and was feeling depressed that I should probably no longer have them. 😞 I've never had oyster mushrooms before but will give them a try. Thanks again. 😊

Thank you for these tips! Esp. the garlic oil. Everything is so bland without it. I found out i can eat a few pieces of dark chocolate without any problem! 🎉 On the other hand, brie ( cheese) is on the green list, but i tried it and it was a disaster. 😵‍💫

Becky, have you thought that there might be other foods that you cannot tolerate? I found I can’t eat night shade, which is very sad, but I feel much better not eating them. Just a thought.❤️

Ms Excell: Thank you very much for what you are doing. I feel such a goof with this thing and believe me your chirpy upbeat videos, so personal and from your own experience, an experience BTW which sounds worse and more extreme than mine, help me to feel less alone with this ordeal. Much appreciated. I appreciate the fact that you speak not at all as a professional, but as a sufferer first and last. That means that we all feel that we are "in it together" a great comfort, believe me! Irrelevant regret from an old man: All these darned grams and metrics forced on the world by the Romans and later Napoleon. George Orwell in 1984 pointed out that no totalitarian system functions without metrics. I hope one day Britain will return to pounds and ounces. Grams will always seem alien to me. Never heard of two different kinds of tofu before! What I wanted to say that is relevant to your talk is that with beans and pulses not just chickpeas I imagine that soaking over night and then washing and draining will do a lot to reduce the FODMAPS. Can anyone confirm or repudiate that? I am just guessing. People always sayit is important to soak raw beans overnight before cooking.. Another thing which occurred to me is that if there is any confusion in one's mind about whether one has histamine food intoleranc or IBS, getting really stuck into parmesan or a mature chedder will probably point in the right direction. With normal IBS that should be harmless but if one has a histamine problem, the result will be unpleasant. I need to make this experiment myself soon, although truth to be told I think I have both.

One of the best resources you can look into is going to be Monash university (the one she mentioned). They do the best studies on what foods are safe and have a ton of resources to help you learn what foods might be safe or not for you. They have an app that's really good, but you can also learn a lot just on their website.
