Initially, we in India felt that the masses wld understand the plight of the countries that were hit by the 2nd wave ... but ... it just did not work. Religion & Politics brushed Governance & safe precautions aside ... those of us who sincerely tried to "appeal".. are heart broken .. we are practically staring despair ... & death ... in the face ... Now feel as if there's no hope but to submit ... who do we fight ? .. sense less behaviour or the non performing governance since Independence. ... Vernon Alvares, Mumbai.

An additional detail about the infection from the plumbing in Hong Kong was that it went through a trap in the floor. The original design was a wet bath where people would clean the floor with water and allow it to drain in the floor trap and the trap would constantly have a water barrier in it. Then people started using dry mops, like swiffer, and the traps dried up leading the virus through the pipes into the bathrooms from other bathrooms. If anyone has this kind of drain go pour some water in it right away.

This is exactly what happened to me and my family. We quarantined ourselves in our house since February, 2020 when China was initially going through the worst scenario and India had started reporting its first cases. We stopped our maids from coming home, washed everything that was delivered from outside, always wore a mask when opening the door for deliveries, did not step out of the house. Nobody entered our house for over a year. And yet last month we all tested positive for Covid. We all are recovering slowly. We all are senior citizens and we still stay indoors, and follow all the instructions given to us. We could not understand how after maintaining such strict vigil and staying in doors, we all still got Covid. Now I understand how we could still be sitting targets for Corona.

LIMITS TO THE PROTECTIVE ROLE OF FACE MASKS. Let us rank the factors in a descending order in their relevance to a spike or surge in cases. 1. Virulence of the virus namely the India variant 2. Social distance or not crowding indoors 3. Refraining from coughing throat clearing singing shouting talking in proximity to others (people make big fuss about coughing in the elbow or covering the mouth while coughing but mere loud talking is pretty nasty for viral dissemination) 4. State of ventilation of the ambient air 5. Wearing of the mask. So if the top four are there you can be safe even without the mask if your immune system is not compromised. Gather a few hundred folks in a place of worship and urge them to sing dance and mingle and you have the recipe for perfect disasters. If you are wearing mask and the top four are against you, the mask wont save you and if the air is as pure and filter as in the airplane cabin you can actually dispense with the mask. That is what went wrong in India and other placed with surges and spikes. Donald Trump's indoor masking voluntary rallies did that too. There are too many problems with the proper use of mask by over 96% of the public which is a hurdle in itself due to arrogance and selfishness of humans.
@Workonyoutube123 жыл бұрын
Sir I didn't understand clearly the part about air filters in planes and what went wrong in the indoor campaigns where people were using masks. Can you please explain in details? The fact that relative to the houses in the Western countries are very open and not air sealed which is done in cold countries to save energy should have worked in favor of India but the high rise buildings with very poor ventilation do bring the buildings in India in close proximity to that in the US, EU etc. The housing in Delhi has become very similar to that in the West and on top of that the density of the virus particles is substantial because of the positivity rate over 20% Until the positivity rate drops below 10% the air would remain infected. While malaria was thought to be the result of bad air instead of the parasite injected by the mosquito it is helpful to think that COVID19 does meet the description of malaria or bad air. So we have to pay huge attention to air purification through filters and by ventilation but that is not advised to be done mechanically using fans because they are believed to disseminate the virus. So only natural airflow is advised for all parts of the house and particularity the highly frequented and closed parts like toilets. May be it is time to revive the open defecation policy that India is notorious for.

I would also recommend the following temporary/short-term measure during this gray period: 1. Distending between household members: -- Any member which works as a worker (especial a essential or a health worker) daily outside of the household is better isolated from the rest as much as possible. -- Mask should be wear by all members at all time in the common rooms. -- Food should not be served from a common plate. -- Out-door clothing and shoes should be kept separately in an out-door fixture, and should not be brought into the house. -- Sleep as much as possible to build a healthy immune system. 2. Avoid speaking/shouting as much as possible in public/work places 3. Wear a mask at public places at all time (a good mask practice is to make sure minimum/no air leaking around the edges of the mask otherwise it is not that effective at all.) 4. Convert large public places into temporary housings for covid-19 patient and using simple mattes and/or canvas/cloth beds held by ropes onto some fixed structure in the room. 5. Organizing small neighborhood COVID watching units to coach/keep its members to observe the public distending health measure all the time. etc ... Helping the others means helping yourself in this critical time !!!! Good luck India !!!!

Madam, please read my comment... #1. aerosol can travel up to 26 feet not just 6 feet. Watch Doctor Mike Hansen videos #2. Urban homes are built without setbacks. So space between your window & neighbour window can be as low as 2 feet. Again risk through aerosols #3. New variants need just 5 minutes of close interaction to transmit. Last years wild virus is 15 mins. So even if a delivery boy is at your door. You are at risk #4. Ventilation is must but this can be counter effective after rain. It helps virus to remain air bourne & travel long distances #5. Having an attach bathroom in an apartment can put you at greater risk of aerosols leaking into the bedroom. Keep the door shut.

SARS cov2 - the contagion of COVID19 - is fairly weak in its ability to be transmitted through the building components. It is even weaker in this ability than SARS cov1. The classic for this is Legionnaires' disease is a form of pneumonia often caused by often Legionella pneumophila found naturally in fresh water. Legionnaires symptoms include cough, shortness of breath, high fever, muscle pains, headaches. Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea which do resemble COVID19 a fair bit. But Legionnaires tends to occur in medium sized focal outbreaks. A lot of comfort can be taken that even simple exposure for short period to the contagion unless you are highly vulnerable would not cause clinical disease. So the toilet origin aerosol should not be a source of panic and stopping the use of toilets entirely. COVID19 is not Legionnaires' disease.

PM Modi (he does not deserve that title anymore) and his political leaders only want to show off to the world by quoting false numbers on everything so it would benefit them, giving speeches and building things that are of no use to the common man in India. They are now going ahead with the Central Vista redevelopment project costing about 200 Billion USD. A few years back, this same stupid BJP government built the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel statue (called the Statue of Unity) with a height of 597 feet costing almost 29.9 billion Indian Rupees ($430 Million) to "show the world". They spent billions of rupees on the Indian Space programme to go to the Moon and Mars. Who wants to go to space, when your people on land are not ok? Had that money instead been used to provide basic healthcare for the people, building up hospital and medical resources, preparing for the pandemic, or providing other necessities of life for all people, rich and poor, that money would have been well utilised. So much of death and suffering could have been avoided. But nothing will change in India as 70% of the population lives below the poverty line and they have deliberately been kept illiterate by the past governments and the current one, so they would never know how to make intelligent choices and to ask challenging questions. India is a doomed country though people don't want to accept the reality. Can international human rights organisations please challenge this Govt. and stop them from using the 200 Billion to build the Central Visa project, since the common man in India has no powers or voice to do anything anymore. Somebody, please help India and its citizens, most of whom are good at heart and are hard working people. My heart is broken :-(.

India should start thinking beyond a vaccine, they should try a method called "HERD IMMUNITY". This might be our only hope to get back to normalcy quickly.

Are they really doing an infomercial on the basis of 2 people and an old SARS story. Scare mongering and irresponsible journalism.

Do not generalise things so simply in your youtube headline just for a clickbait. Do not spread fear. People who are staying in their homes are doing their part don't spread panic with such a generalised statement. 🤬🤬 Sewage pipes are not a problem for people in india where most of the residents live in independent houses.
