If they are actually Colt manufactured then the 30 round mags could demand a decent price. But most the mags supplied are from different military contracted suppliers. And the standard 30 round mags can be pretty hard to even get $9 bucks a piece. Also much of that gear may still be U.S. government property. Its questionable...

He’s a civilian. Why do you expect him to have the same knowledge as a professional soldier, who has put in the time to learn, has? It won’t take him long to learn about all of that gear, as he puts in the time to research it, before he sells it. Dissing him for not knowing now, is congruent with a soldier, bragging over basic knowledge about kit, which every soldier (marine etc.) should know. Does it make you feel superior?

So, of course there would be a script, that paid actors would need to follow, if they want to stay employed. Do you think the show would have garnered the ratings it got, if they didn’t have the “big reveal” to pull people in to watch the show? High ratings equals more money taken in from advertising dollars. That means everybody involved with the show gets to keep their jobs and even, in some cases, get paid more than when they first started the job. Bro, do yourself a favor and hire someone who is prior military to identify what some items are and price them. You are WAY underselling allot of that gear, like the laser range finder. Also, those are Colt 30 round 5.56/.223 MAGAZINES, not clips. It would be easy for you to go to a swap meet or gun show and depending on condition and the market get allot of money for them. I got $850 for a set of 7 (standard 210 round load). Also, you don't have to throw those magazines away, you can get them pinned to only accept the legal number of rounds. It was painful watching you go through those boxes and misidentifying and being a little bit rough with some of those items that can be very and expensive.

These are all clips....no, they are magazines. We can't sell them in CA so I'll just turn them in.... Did you have to turn your manhood in before moving to CA or did it just happen over time? The magazines are not illegal if they are plugged or pinned to 10 rds or less and it takes a few seconds and costs a few cents each to do it. There is no reason to destroy them or turn them in when you can make them legal for a few cents each and then sell them working.
