Yeah, I mean, it seems like the Bengals really had the pass protected, which is why we didn't see many passes 'cause Pat wasn't seeing anything he liked, and then the interceptions were Mahomes getting hot blooded and thinking he could power something through, whereas the run was working just fine. I mean, somehow, the Bengals have got the strategy to match the pass game, and then, as we all know, they have the players to execute. So, I'm still optimistic but didn't expect the passing game to be as restricted as it was.

Chris nailed the reason the pass to Rice that brought on the PI: his helmet was hit before the ball got there, which drove his eyes downward, off the ball; otherwise Rice would likely make the catch. The Chiefs would have gone from there, making the Butker field goal attempt closer.

J Chase does not have a contract beyond this year and the inability to secure his future this off season is weighing on his mind. McDuffie did not "drop hip" but Chase seems really concerned about being protected this year.

Let’s be honest here…Justin Reid is a liability in coverage versus tight ends, but Spags is loyal to him because he knows this defense. The only way Hicks gets playing time is if Reid gets injured or if Spags decides he wants to go to a three Safety look, but even then we still have Cook, Conner, and Reid for that so he probably still won’t play as much. Just my thoughts on why Hicks isn’t getting much PT

The offense literally did not get enough points. Chiefs needed the defensive TD to eke out the win. My biggest concern is that sans Hollywood Brown the Chiefs don't have a true #1 X-receiver. Can Worthy develop into that player by the end of the season? Maybe. But I wouldn't bet on a rookie doing so in Reid's offense. Rice might have a better shot, though he's better suited for the slot. As encouraging as the season opener was, week 2 might be a reality check. Hopefully, the anemic performance (4.8 yards per play is rough) was more a function of our historic struggles vs. Anarumo's defenses. The next few weeks should be a good barometer for where this offense is at. But I wouldn't necessarily put it ahead of the 2022 offense, which benefited from a younger Kelce, a decent MVS season (by his standards), a clutch security blanket in JuJu, who was still spry enough to pick up so many critical first downs vs. 2-deep zone, and a highly productive McKinnon out of the backfield. That team also started 2-0, but then laid an egg in Indy and lost a nailbiter vs. Buffalo before blowing out Frisco in the bay, which to me was the turning point of the entire season.

Bengals fan here… couple things. 1. ANOTHER instant classic between these 2 teams. We definitely don’t like each other but we do respect each other. Is money Mac doesn’t miss that XP, this is another overtime game., while I agree that 4th and 16 was a penalty, that’s also rarely called in those situations so that hurt. That burrow fumble td changed everything. Wish we would have had tee Higgins and our stud rookie right tackle and chase would have been 100%and not been on dt5-6-7, as we couldn’t stop the run, but overall came out of the game with the same. Bengals are the only legit threat to the chiefs, and can’t wait to see the adjustments when we face off in January. Preferably with a healthy Pacheco and Hollywood. See y’all then

Not exactly true. If he didn’t miss the extra point chiefs don’t go for 2 to try for a 3 point lead. Instead chiefs go up by 1 with their extra point and it plays out basically the same way with a score of 27-26

Seems like Cinncy defense has the Chiefs number every time they play. When will the Chiefs brain trust figure out how to beat that Cinncy defense? Conversely, When will the Chiefs defense figure out how to mount a run defense and pass defense that doesn't just watch the cinncy team march down the field. Kingsley Suamataia got beat badly by Trey Hendrickson. However, the mistakes he made he’s not gonna make the same ones he made in this game. When the Chiefs drafted him they agreed to a project LT with baseline skills and they also so his athleticism and his high ceiling in my opinion. Also he is a rookie I believe he’s gonna work out just fine. I didn’t think Patrick played very well not his best anyway. Jamar chase going off on the referee was almost priceless he nearly got ejected from the game. It looked like a very hard fought victory for KC. Why did Andy Reid take a field goal on a fourth and one on the goal line?? Chase was pissed that McDuffie was able to bring him down on his own. That big guy touchdown by Wanya Morris was pretty awesome 👏.

It’s funny how things change so quickly in the NFL. Last week the Chiefs and 49ners were put on pedestals with how much better they were than the rest of the league and this week both teams got served some humble pie. At least the Chiefs found a way to win a game they had no business winning. And that’s what championship caliber teams do. I’m not panicked, they played one of the worst games on both sides of the ball that they will all year and are 2-0.
