People need to see truly how valuable Max Christie is, no matter if he scores a ton or not. Like Caruso as a laker, Max is always guarding the best perimeter stars, making them work hard for their points. Reaves is a better scorer, but he gives you NOTHING on defense. If you want to fill seats, you want Reaves, if you want to win titles, you want Max.

I've been twice as exasperated as Andy about the lack of playing time for Max since the Darwin Ham days.... I'll go one more step....Max is the starting 2 guard for the Lakers and don't need a Bruce Brown or DMurray as many in media and Lakers nation have been advocating for.... They just need a backup big rebounding monster to backup AD and play along with him in certain matchups....

Max played terrible early and is still not a good decision maker with the ball in his hands. A good stretch of games doesn’t mean that he’s the guy. He’s good but if you can get better, do it.

It feels like there is a chance of being in the running of most improved player if he can keep this up… And when I say keeping this up, I just mean double figure scoring with stellar D… I don’t expect 20 something a game from him, he is the 5/6 option.
@Oberonz12 күн бұрын
I hope he has arrived because I want to see this line up at least once, not permanent or starting but just let me see what this can do. Bron Point, Max 2, Cam 3, Dorian 4, AD 5, I just want to see what a switchy line up like this can do. Max can hold his on Offense with AD and Bron so you got enough O and then you got a hella defensive unit, fast and tough.
@BurntToast85112 күн бұрын
Taking Austin out after hes been progressing really well as a facilitator? I understand his lateral speed hurts him defensively, but hess been incredible of late and its not a fluke. No way he gets removed from the line up.
@hanzie27952 күн бұрын
Max should study Bruce Bowen's defensive game to increase his playing time.
@buckbeezi62633 күн бұрын
lol i notice dat Brian was ok with Dorian scoring 3 points while providing good defense, but he was jus doin whole segments pointing out Cams lack of offensive production jus a couple weeks ago. I also notice how Andy seemed very excited explaining a couple of good plays Dorian made, but Cam does shit like dat all da time n da most he gets is an honorable mention. I’m always lurking ready to point out da hypocrisy just like I was here for da Bronny situation.
@BurntToast85112 күн бұрын
Probably because DFS has better career offensive numbers + similar defensive ability to Cam. Which means his ceiling is higher and theres more to be excited about as he becomes comfortable with the offense. Cam will always be a very limited offensive player
@Tracks9802 күн бұрын
I still think DFS is a far superior defensive player to Cam. The energy and disruption, screen navigation and switch ability are all better with DFS
@rodeljohnson2362 күн бұрын
Cam has had plenty of opportunities on multiple teams and he shows up 30-40% of the time. He should be more consistent by now. He has been in the league too long to be so inconsistent. One day he is a dog on defense, but the next he is major negative. He was a shooter coming out of Duke so I don’t know what happened.
@andiemali48412 күн бұрын
Cam can't navigate screens and makes too many risks jumping passing lanes making it 4 on 5 which you can't necessarily do all the time when the rest of the team is deficient defensively. Plus he gets back cut because he's always ball watching. And he's a shitty three point shooter

Max is finally hitting the wide open shots he should’ve been hitting. His shot profile has improved and he’s finally starting to take the semi-contested 3’s that affect the offense in a real way…… It was the blazers. He doesn't really need to average more than 10 points. If he gives you 8-12ish a night with the same level of defense, it's a big upgrade, and has significant downstream impacts. If he bumps that to 10-15 on a consistent basis, then you're really talking. But even at that lower level, it's a big difference. Thanks for watching! BK

I actually think he arrived in the second half of last season when they were rittled with injuries. They started playing Max more minutes, LA started going on a run during that stretch. Then D-Lo came back, they added Dinwiddee, &Vincent, pushing Max off the rotation, and LA started losing again. It’s a LeBron thing, he wants all offense, isn’t concerned with defense at all. But to win, you need to have defenders out there too to balance out the team.

Can someone explain to me why the philosophy of JJ Redick is for the team to jack up threes, when it is no necessarily the strength of the team? You live or die by the three. Let’s trade Gabe for Robert Williams and Rui for Collin Sexton. Bring sexton, Knecht, vando and Robert Williams off the bench. Start AR, Christie, DFS, Bron and AD. Sign Lonnie Walker to an open roster spot to help with bench scoring. We need a backup center. We need another dependable ball handler other than Austin and LeBron. And we’ll need insurance for Knecht in terms of bench scoring.
@georgegomez13943 күн бұрын
robert williams isn’t a healthy reliable option long term, id rather they try and get walker kessler, he’s young, still developing or nick richards, as for a backup attack first guard, colin sexton would be a good option or bruce brown
@JasonBrendan-td4qb3 күн бұрын
@ Robert Williams just turned 27. He’s not that old. Yes he has injury issues. He also has a lot of playoff experience and has played on good teams before. Unlike Kessler or Richards. If we can get Kessler, I’d be fine with that. I’m not sure we can get him.

All that hype over Christie on this podcast in the offseason 😂. Let's pump the brakes on his arrival. He did this against a glorified G-League roster (which I've been saying Max should have spent more time in the G League over the past couple seasons, vs. being benched by the main squad). Do this against Cleveland, OKC, or Houston consistently, and sure I may stop ripping the kid. Hyping him up without seeing any tangible evidence of consistent performance on the court really didn't do him any favors in my estimation 🤷🏾♂️
