That's exactly the moat frustrating part. We are on the edge of being a real contender!!! We had a cap at 180M with Cano and Cruz.... we have the #1 rotation in the league. Take advantage of this right now before we have to pay or trade these great arms

It seems like talk has left ha-seong kim and hye-seong kim with the M’s. I think that would be a good 2B and 3b duo.. then sign Turner for the seasoned veteran player and we are set. Luke raley was one of the better players on the team. IMO if we get the two Kim’s and re-sign Turner, we are in a better spot than people think..

@TridentsUp20242 күн бұрын
We unfortunately gotta wait for our infield prospects to develop since ownership won’t spend and only wants to draft and develop without spending at all. Hopefully the arms we drafted last year can replace the pitchers we’re gonna lose in the next couple of years

"To me, the super obvious pivot for the #Mariners to take is to leave the first base market and go get Luis Robert. The White Sox are one of the few teams willing to take prospects and you’ve got a shit ton of good ones. I’m not trading Emerson, prefer not to trade Young. Go nuts." - CPAT11 Colby's losing it....

Yes, it has been a very slow off season. But if other teams are not willing to pay for what Castillo is worth, then keep him. I will wait and see what the roster looks like on opening day to pass any judgement on management. A lot can happen between now and April

Time to keep Castillo at this point. FA options with freeing up his salary are gone now. Only thing I can think of is Hoerner trade and then get Roki. Not gonna happen.

This is INSANE. I’ll lay it out. Stanton won’t spend on bats. Our offense will continue to suffer. They’ll win ~54% of games and miss the playoffs. This will continue until we run out of arb years for Gilbert and Kirby. Ownership won’t pay them. We’ll lose 85+ games again.

The current version of the Mariners remind me of the early 2000s Mariners teams. It seemed like the team was always one piece away, yet the front office and ownership never showed a willingness to sign or acquire the extra bat they needed in the lineup. The 2003 team stands out to me as they finished second in the AL West and finished two games behind Boston for the wild card, and the "big" acquisition they made right before the trade deadline was Rey Sanchez! I understand not wanting to spend like the big boys and wanting to avoid the luxury tax, but this team is so close to being a contender!

Ms are now on Alex Bergman after 1st base fallout. Dont see a sp going anywhere unless it hancock for coby mayo or a other mlb ready prospect straight up pitching market has also opened the door for mid to back end starters to be delt. Pick up Justin Turner was better for needs of ms.

I'm calling for a boycott of the Mariners for the sake and in support of the players and the front office (not ownership) that have busted their @$$ to be competitive without the minimal financial support while in their championship window. This doesn't mean players haven't played as well as hoped or every move of the front office has been the best, but the front office and the players are for the most part working within the confines they are given from ownership. It's time for fans to speak with their dollars and stop going to games and getting the merchandise for the sake of the players, the fans of the PNW and actually call the ownership group to accountability with our dollars. If ownership has Jerry say that we are saving money for extensions of current Mariners, what player in their right mind would go to an organization that while they were in a championship window, didn't marginally pay for free agents to help bolster your team let alone the team being so cheap, we are going to extend maybe 1 player at this rate. It's time for new ownership. It's time for the boycott.

No player they traded for really wanted to be here. The players who came as FA and stay are overpaid, on the way out of the league. There is no way but to add local guys and develop talent. The next wave is coming this season. The worst part is the bonus baby having its ARod moment last season, settling for 6-year-and-out ball.

I think something with sports is it can take times to adjust and there’s timing to. Garver could very likely bounce back, for all we know. Also Julio wasn’t playing his best and that can be contagious last year to begin the season. What if JP bounces back and if the chemistry is right and Randy is Randy and Robles needed a change of scenery and clicks here then this could be a lot more interesting offensive year to come. I definitely agree we need to add but what if bliss is an all-star and locklear hits 25hr this team could surprise. Im trying to be optimistic but patience m’s fans. I feel this isn’t as simple as advanced metrics and stats. We seen Edgar come in and simplify the approach and it had some influence. I definitely think there’s more chance for us to fall short if we don’t click with chemistry but if this team figures it out and Julio goes for a 40/40 290/350/550 season. This team will look totally different yet the roster stays the same. Baseball is funny. How many players have slumped then teams give up.Then, they get let go and they become superstars. I say this for myself but I agree we should definitely not panic because we didn’t sign Santana.

Just bring up prospects for our holes. We have tried trading for guys that were supposed to be good and then ended up being bad. So giving our prospects a chance is a better option at this point.

Wouldnt call jerry or justin scapegoats. They constantly pigeon whole themselves and fail to adequately judge the market. That along with not being able to adequately evaluate offensive talent at the MLB level.

It’s arguably worse teasing your fans with a decent team that could be great by not being cheap, than knowing you’re flat out trash and don’t have a chance. They’re the ultimate blue ballers.

the fact that they were trying to land a 39 year old player makes very little sense. This ownership/FO is completely clueless. Now they will move on to a 40 year old player. And then throw their hands up when he takes another step back statistically.
@MisterP19832 күн бұрын
Trade Castillo and whatever else to the Royals for Vinnie Pasquantino and Javier Vaz. Trade JP and prospects to the Diamondbacks for Jake McCarthy and Gino Groover. Bring up Cole Young to play SS. Bring up Brandyn Garcia to replace Castillo. There's enough power in the Mariner's lineup, they need high contact/OBP, also lower K rate, guys to set the table for Julio, Randy, Cal, etc. If we can't spend like they're reporting, try to dump salary and get some sort of return and bring up fringe guys to fill in the rest.
