Good show, Q. I agree with your comments about possible HC candidates. I really, really don’t want Gruden and would feel hopeful with Arians or Carroll. Carroll especially because he has a LOT of experience playing against all of the other coaches in our division. I think he would be the best coach to compete with these dudes. I had to go to KZbin to hear the show today as it wasn’t available yet on Apple or Amazon podcasts. 😢

Maybe I'll be excited when this magical HOF coach appears out of no where, but for me, the excitement and passion the was inspired by AP, left the building with him. At some point, the ownership and leadership of this organization has to actually look like all them mottos on the walls. If the fire that burns brightest is still winning, then right now it's barely an emergency candle.

It is what it is. Can't blame AP for all of the injuries, and the players that they elevated played hard, but not at a level they needed to be for the team to win. Gotta think how different the year would have been if Koonce, Crosby and Wilkins had stayed healthy. That might have been a defense that could have carried us while the offense was struggling. On to the off-season!

Problem was their OC/QB coach, and OL coach, and QB…. AP gave Getsy too much say and led to two lame OGs in free agency. Telesco should’ve kept Eluemunor just for continuity. And somehow they ignore Sincere at RB for the zone scheme???

I'm glad you brought up Amik's play vs Justin Jefferson. I was happy for the dude but it was making me sick too. All this coaching instability leads solid players with great potential out the door to play for other teams. We gotta get someone who can capitalize on the positive drafting record of telesco.

Interesting to see the changes that will be made. Lotta draft picks, and a lot of cap space. I like Coen and Ben Johnson, and I think you should stick and pick, grab bpa, and see if AOC has any juice next year. I don't love the quarterbacks coming out of the draft this year. I think Shedeur without the name is Bo Nix (which is pretty good but not franchise saving), and Cam Ward just feels like a bust if he doesn't go to a perfect situation (we aren't).

The biggest problem with Gruden was he sucked at 1st round drafting. If he was willing to be a coach and let Telesco be a gm he would probably be pretty good. Hard to imagine him being ok without that level of control though.

Except we never established our identity. We were dead last in rushing, bottom of the league in offense and very middle of the road on defense near the bottom of the league in creating turnovers etc. He talked the talk, but he didn’t walk the walk

Telesco sabotaged pierce the moment minshew was signed. How you do that to him and let him get the axe for a doomed from the start offseason. Leadership is intangible and a natural ability. Game time decisions, checking you're motions at the podium, and clock management are learnable skills. Especially for a first time head coach. This firing is a shame.

I see it like this. Full disclosure, I wanted Mr Davis to hire Coach Pierce last year. I did. We all did. It was demanded, by fans chanting in the stadium and players like Crosby. I think we were all wrong. AP was never even a coordinator ever. AP was not qualified. But we all wanted him. Mr Davis should no longer bow to pressure from fans or players like Crosby. Mr Davis was wrong, as all of us were. That’s how I see it. 🏴‍☠️

May of well have stuck one more season because LOOK at OUR division. People are being unrealistic about the situation. We don't just need to be good. We need to being Lions good. We need to win 13 games. We are going to take at least 2 if not 3 years to complete. while building we should have kept AP for his contract. We should save money of flashy FAs and just try pick up some gems like Spillane - don't spend cap for the sake of it - that rolls over. Also Best player available in draft. Until we are a complete ready to win team. Then we attract the best coach because we have a great foundation of a team... Wait for the QB to come to us instead of reach (through FA or draft). And finally maximise our cap spending. Every time you half a55 it you end up like the pervious 10 years limping. in mid table mediocrity.

Rooney Rule works... look at Soccer! In the UK we have 47% Black players and one manager of mixed heritage in the Primer League. I n all top 4 professional divisions there is only 1 more manager who is Black in the fourth tier. thats 92 teams. *sidenote: Not to be morbid but Andy Reid is 66 and 3??lbs. - We might be a stick of butter away from coach Reid going SOMEWHERE* .
