I always underestimated how much you actually have to lift chest and extend upper back.

I thought I was good at lock down, full extension, feeling lats, slow reps with end squeeze, and then I woke up from my dream and saw this and MVW's back videos. Holy Shiatsu, did back yesterday and flew home from the gym with New Lat Wings... and they be sore as a u know what (from the workout not from flying). Man this guy is LEGIT. THANK U.

They call it posture running when in reference to running. Some one won a nobel prize for it. This is literally our best biomechanics science. The initial posture plus final posture plus inbetween postures are all important.

Lifting sternum and extending ribcage changed the game for me. Im lucky enough to naturally have retracted scapula from the start but proper shoulder positioning and lifting chest were the 2 cues from MVW that im forever grateful for🙏💪🏽💯

The deep understanding of biomechanics, breaking down movement into parts understandable and reproducable even for the layman is what made me subscribe to the channel months ago. You're just operating on a whole different level to even many physical therapists with how you're breaking down these things and are able to explain them. I'm currently helping my father rehab his own post-surgery shoulder in a home gym setting and this was a huge help, in particular because he, too, has no grasp of how to feel the upper back engange, open or cntract. Thank you for sharing your expertise.

I started doing rope rows as my 1st exercise or or 1st row movement (after pullups) about 6 months ago. I've found it an excellent way to help feel my back open and close. Ever since then I've been able to connect with other back movements much better and my back has grown more than any other body part. I am doing half the volume of sets as before and getting more exhausted. The knots I used to get in my upper back have also disappeared. Thanks for the videos Mike, keep up the great work!

I honestly can't understand how some people have "X" number of subscribers and @bigmikevanwyck only has 110K. Seriously. I'm 48 and only just started going to the gym and learning since Nov23. All my knowledge is from this guy and I think I have improved more than all the people in the GYM I have been going to. Not knocking them, I just think they are clueless in what they are doing. being older and wiser may have helped me skip the ego lifting stage. This account should've been at 500K subscribers by now, and still growing. I wish the best for this guy and hope ALL his Instagram subscribers join here. I don't need another channel to follow.

New to the channel but been watching several videos over last 2 weeks and implementing the technique. Mind blown on a few subtle adjustments on the basics. Watched a low cable fly video and used the technique and thought wow. This is a much needed channel. Outstanding channel. If you're new to lifting and are watching this channel, well done, you were lucky to hit technique instruction gold. Amazingly good technique instructions and knowledge. Legend. Thankyou. You're natural understanding of movement and technique is such a rare gift. Also the no bullshit approach is refreshing

Again a very top notch and educational video. In our times of sitting down for hours and/or having our necks postured downwards towards our mobile gadgets, the very first training a new individual who starts gym should be mid back/rhomboid training. If I could I go back and tell my self to train my mid back first before anything for enough time and than keep it a staple part of my training regiment. Good stuff Mike, thank you.

Will Tennyson and Phil heath had a recent video where Phil did these(more for rear delt) by grabbing the ball end of the rope with the first and second fingers. Great stuff
