Fun for a tenner, but a great base for making/modding your own folding pick set?

I'd say the scratches on the housing are from the break/bending process of the sheet metal

Bending process = radius

They are probably produced with a die stamp. Feeds a strip of metal from a spool and then gets cut and shaped in one or 2 goes. Very cheap way of producing large quantities of parts like this.

That’s correct. 1:18 there were imperfections, chips, or grit on the bending dies. And those dies were much harder steel than the pick set.

@LockNoob YES !! Please, customize it ! 🙏 With your skills, it has so much potential 😊 ! (Maybe there's enough room inside for tensors ? Maybe there is a possibility to improve the tightness with a piece of rubber inside the notch ? Maybe there is a possibly for different types of tools (decoder, dimple lock ?) for the perfect EDC ? ) Thank you ❤

I think the scratches happened on the metal bender that were used to form that piece of the tool.

I received mine a week ago from AliExpress for 2.49 US but the pictures was not clear what it was. I took a chance and until this video I was unsure of what to make of it.. I figured I would mod it and at least make a couple of racks and reform others into picks just for fun.. glad to see another’s point of view…

Looks identical to Sparrows most recent Dark Shift rake set. Those are double sided though. For its price i might get this as a gift to someone who wants to try lockpicking, i say might because i think you should start out with spp since you will learn more about locks by just spping at first. Maybe gift idea for prepper or first responder and or handyman, im not sure.

You're right. I love some aspects of the design. It would be interesting if someone made a higher quality version.

I've seen these bouncing around the Chinese websites. Like you I thought it would make a good starting point to custom make your own tools. 🙂👍

I just "picked" one up myself. 🤭 Would love to see how you mod this, if you decide to.

It looks like it's available for just £4.45 plus VAT right now. It will be interesting to see if what arrives is the same at the tool in the video.

It's a better option than the new *Sparrows* folder. Lol $95. Sparrows has lost their minds.

It's a GENUINE multitool - it's got a bottle opener 😂😂😂 Definitely modify it and send it over to Sparrows to copy the Chinese 😆 Nice one mate 👍 🍻 🍻 🍻 🍻

Are those rake profiles only good for euro and or Asian locks because they look strange compared to the rape profile I’m used to seeing in the USA. Does anyone know?
@SuperFunkmachine4 ай бұрын
They work on euro locks, just the cheaper end.

Copy the Chinese? Is that even possible? I thought they “borrowed” patents and ideas from the rest of the world 😂
