This is the best version of the Ruko IMO. DO you agree? 🤔🔐

Thanks for the video and skilled picking, Ash. 🙂👍 As for which is the best, 🤷♂️. I've never knowingly seen a Ruko in the flesh, let alone picked one, so any Ruko would be special to me. 😀

Thanks, Ash. Great lock. Kudos to Ruko for their security pins and setup. Seems like in the overall picture not that many locks use non-standard security pin designs (vs. the 'off-the-shelf' spools etc.) or even go to the lengths of adding undercuts. (Still marvelling about how they would machine those in there though.)

The key is 10+ years old and the cylinder is the inside part of a double cylinder install. The pins indicate everything is factory. So about the time where we tell people to get a service and a possible pin replace. so this is the magic moment between gin and brass and barrel and steel, All 6 pin cores have undercut and the 4 drill protect inserts. There are also 3 inserts in the bible to protect the drivers

I know that feeling of wondering what's inside your Rukos. Sadly I don't yet know the feeling of opening them. I have another frustration too when it comes to Rukos & ASSAs, in that I don't know which model I have, and also who I should say is the maker. That's because I have an example where the body is etched ASSA but the key states Ruko. As one of my compulsions is correct numbering/naming/cataloguing, this adds a whole extra layer of frustration.
@parapicktog77343 жыл бұрын
Well done Ash! I never seen "gin bottle" pins before, but absolutely love the way they interact with the undercut. With my current skill levels, I would never get into that.

Ok, the reveal of those gins really surprised me. I'm also wondering why the gins did not interact with the undercuts properly. Normally you need to manually counter rotate, to pick those gins out of their counter milling
@LockNoob2 ай бұрын
My guess is the milling is not that deep, making the gins feel like a serrated spool. It’s not like in the Assa 700
@keithroberts59463 жыл бұрын
Why are there gaps in the front of that lock? Those pins look really great - but how do they do the undercut? Lovely looking lock again thanks for sharing.
@bokusimondesu3 жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly, so that you can mount it from either side of the door. And that was wrong. It's for mounting up against a regular oval cylinder - for key opening on both sides of the door.
@bokusimondesu3 жыл бұрын
See rune international 's comment.

I have no idea how ruko make the undercuts, but if I was making it, I would use a tiny router bit with a rotary tool(dremel).

What did you call that sparrows pick? I just call that one an offset half diamond.
@kstogie3 жыл бұрын
The lunatic. It's very different from an offset half diamond if you saw them side by side. Has more reach (kind of a long goose neck) with a smaller tip. I've found it difficult to maneuver in the pad locks I've tried it in.
