These locks are among the most common locks in Denmark. Difficult enough to pick in a vice but even much more difficult in the field. These locks are mostly under double spring tension. Once from the locking bolt as well as from a spring attached to the door-handle operated bolt. Extremely difficult to find the right tension. - Any suggestion most welcome. B.t.w. Congrats for having opened tis one.

Some fine picking there! Someone just sent me a Ruko to play with... It doesn't want to play with me though. Tough lock.

I always like seeing these oval shaped locks. They really did't want anyone drilling into this thing...

The drill protection on the side was definitely unexpected... like they were protecting sidebars that aren't there.

I hear that Ruko has a war going on against lock picking, but you sure made it look easy. Informative also.

Those gin bottle spools gave me no end of nightmares in a Twin I picked. It's the first time I'd ever seen a spool/countermilling combination that gave absolutely no perceptible feedback when they got hung up. Just to test the limits, I hung it up, let completely go of the tension bar, grabbed an old pick and lifted it with enough force that the pick broke. I never got even the smallest amount of counterrotation. It was a thing to behold!
@lockpickinglawyer
@lockpickinglawyer 8 жыл бұрын
+tumbl3r I know what you mean. I have an assa 600 with these pins and the counter milled core, and it's one of the hardest combinations around. I think that assa took a step backwards when they switched spool styles and started with the "threaded" cores.

I'd be curious to see you pick an Ruko/Assa Abloy 1200/D12 as these are fast becoming the new normal in Scandinavia, taking over from the Ruko 600. I have them in my own apartment.

I'm from Scandinavia. Nearly all locks here are Ruko 6 pin locks. Even on padlocks and the like. Its our standard lock, where it only gets better... Pick a Ruko 1200 next. I dare you ;)

Hold on to this one. I may have the new style drivers. If I do, I'll mail them to you so you can swap these out and get a real feel of their new style of anti pick protection. It's a big "may" but I'll take a look. Great work non the less.

Aah, the legendary Ruko. Nice. Would I be right in assuming that the older style 600 cylinder is a little tougher? I say that as you seemed to breeze through it seemingly without much trouble. Not that you breezing through a lock is unusual at all. :)

Feral Woodcraft I was sharpening my Ontario SP8 that I've had since I was a kid (love that thing) before heading out to the mountains and I was watching a video on reprofiling the bevels... one of the suggested videos from there was a review you did of a Machete-ish knife (don't remember which). I liked the video and watched another of yours. I was on my third video before I actually looked at your logo and made the connection.

Nice picking. The pins are T pins I think . I could be wrong tho. Anyways nice lock too. Thanks...
@lockpickinglawyer

Thanks... I honestly don't know the proper name for the pins, but everyone else seems to call them "old style ASSA spools," so I called them the same. They definitely as not what I consider to be a T pin.

I have this on my front door, LPL picked this in 1:13 - So I guess it's time for an upgrade. But which oval RUKO cylinder lock is the best deplacement, not that I imagine it could stand up against the LPL in any stretch of the imagination. But What should I get???? I know the LPL probably will never see this comment, but I would love to have his input. So which oval RUKO cylinder lock should I pick (no pun intended). And I live in Denmark. I would hate to choose a different shape cylinder, as I then have to install a new lock case (is that the right word) the case you insert the oval RUKO cylinder lock. Maybe I should contact a locksmith, however I strongly believe they are not as professional as they pretend. (EDIT) time is 29.09.2021 so 5 years have passed

@@ChrisMokkel Hey Brother, nope still stuck with the oval RUKO, have not found any better than that yet.

The first thing I did after watching the old Bosnianbill's video on Ruko locks kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpDVp3idaNihidU was going to your channel and searching for Ruko. According to Bill this one is one of the less resistant ones, have you ever picked DP or DP+ ones?
