Got this lock from a friend who was in Denmark recently. She got it from her host who has just replaced the front door lock. A pretty tricky pick with the short key pins in the back and nasty drivers.

Absolutely fantastic I loved the last click when you got the lock opened, A very nice lock , & definitely a tough one, great video as always.
@Potti3146 жыл бұрын
Thank you - yeah, that's a serious lock and I also love these clicks just before the opening.

Great job man. I'm trying to pick 2 rukos I think same as you're one. I have no keys and I'm fairly new to picking so I'm finding it hard but I will try like you did. Medium hook start and then deeper to try finish setting pins. I hope I get it open, I want to see what's inside! Thanks for sharing this...

Stunning old Ruko. Just the name is synonymous with quality and is intimidating. Pretty cool it has that sidebar slot in it too. 😍✌🇦🇺

Yeah, the bible-rod is very cool - thanks for watching. And yes, ASSA locks are always intimidating ;-)

That was awesome. You did very good on that. Very tough key way to navigate.
@Potti3146 жыл бұрын
Thank you - the keyway is tough but fortunately has enough room to navigate sideways.

Great picking Michael, Ruko are awesome locks to pick, I have some from my friend oceanaut and they are locks that teach to pick. Great vid buddy, thanks for showing ;o))

Thank you buddy. Having this older lock open is great but I have a Ruko Assa 2 padlock with a brand new Roku core in it - just looks the same as the one in the video but I had luck yet. The bitting is easier but the feedback is weird - I feel like I had never picked open a lock before ;-)
@TallanPick6 жыл бұрын
I know how you are talking about, I have a new Ruko 6 pin oval lock and it is really nasty, I think the problem is that the contact between the pick and pins is very easily lost and we do not realize it. To open them you have to be very precise when pushing the pins. It only remains to continue practicing, don´t give up, sure we will see the video of that Ruko2 soon ;o))
@Potti3146 жыл бұрын
Will continue trying as always ;-) Thanks for the tips.

This us a 600 series. The gin bottle pins were only used in the 500 (and occasionally in the extremely rare 700) series, which also had the core with mantel.
@Potti3146 жыл бұрын
Ah, ok. Thanks for the info. I was thinking that the drivers of my Ruko are just the newer pins and the other shape (as shown by my red model) you can find in older models.

Beautiful lock that Ruko! Thanks for Sharing! Since I just watched the Bosnian Bill Whipped by Steve Challenge lock with overset trap topic it was interesting that this had the like challenge involved and I loved how you overcame it with the second pick! I'd love to see you get a hold of that Steve Challenge lock from Bosnian Bill to see if you could have success with it! Thanks Again for Sharing this Video!

Cheers buddy and thank you :-) I also saw BB struggling with this wildly bitted lock. But it looks like that my lock is much less dramatic as his. With the key bitting of the Ruko you can insert the pick sideways without oversetting. But not so on the lock from Bill. There even the shaft causes an overset.

I believe those pins are hardened then centerless ground to dimension.
@Potti3146 жыл бұрын
That sound interesting, why do you think so?
@douro206 жыл бұрын
Potti314 They are steel. It would be quite difficult and take more machining time to lathe cut them, especially to the tolerances demanded by ASSA.
@Potti3146 жыл бұрын
OK, checked out what centerless grinding actually means and hey, learned something new today - thanks for the inspiration buddy :-)

Bravo! Very well done! is there an advantage to picking a lock counter-clockwise? I'm sorry if this is common knowledge, I'm a newbie and just learning.
@phri61736 жыл бұрын
slipdawg97531 some people find it easier and sometimes if you can't pick a lock clockwise it might be easier to try it counter clockwise , this is why there are plug spinners sold so if you can only get a lock to pick counter clockwise you can still get an open by spinning it really fastly clockwise 😊, I hope this helps answer your question mate and best of luck in your picking endeavours 😊🍻🔓
@Potti3146 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I usually try to pick open door locks counter-clockwise as this is the direction at which I would unlock my door. Padlocks are picked the other way around, so I have always a good mix.

Love these quality brand oval"s , very exotic to us in the UK :]
@Potti3146 жыл бұрын
Yes, these are great locks. They are also strange to me, here in Germany you usually find euro locks.
@ccmogs57576 жыл бұрын
Yeah mostly euro"s (uPVC ) in the UK now , but not that long ago it was nearly all wooden doors with Yale type locks :]
@Potti3146 жыл бұрын
For me UK is the land of lever locks ;-)
@ccmogs57576 жыл бұрын
True, most commercial/public internal doors are lever type plus years ago most domestic properties (especially Local Authority housing) were Yale cylinder - front door & 3/5 lever - back door :]
@Potti3146 жыл бұрын
They are pretty cool but require a larger key.
@neha397 ай бұрын
