This guy survived for a pretty good amount of time against Ali's Arche in an enclosed space with nothing more than those tiny pistols, and even did respectable damage. He is way better than people give him credit for.

But the thing is, Neil was the one that didn't specialize in melee combat but can still hold his own with a beam saber; Lyle here is more well-rounded in terms of his combat style which is why he was.maaking good use of the GN pistols with the tiny blade attachments
