I have just started really and am trying to learn individual pin picking which is much harder than it looks; just getting the feel for each pin and what is actually a 'click'. This is some of the most educational stuff out there. Thanks so much. Paul.

LPL You have just blown my mind. . Seriously lol I've got a keyless one similar to this at home and been trying to pick it for 4 hours straight 🤣 I keep getting false sets every time and can't get past that. I must admit my curved pick ain't quite so curved as yours so maybe that's the KEY pardon the pun 😀👍 i will try again one night. . If Ifail do you want it? It's full anti drill and has a shallow key way so where you put your wrench is smaller on mine with a slight etching where yours is cut fully!

Finally a lock like this. My door locked with the keys inside the apartment and so far every american lockpicking tutorial was on the easy locks. Here in Germany almost all locks are serrated and it's hard to even get the tool into the keyhole let alone pick it
@ATA123405 жыл бұрын
Great video thanks. Came across a yale like this today- all the serrations seemed to bind and needed to be picked multiple times. I notice the pins (although being serrated) in the video seemed to behave like spools
@ryanmurray35984 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I acquired a handful of these and spent half an hour on them, to no joy. Thought I would check in with ol' lpl and see what he was saying. He said of a squire stronghold lock that it was fairly easy. I have one if those too and it took me and absurd amount if time. If he reckons this one was fairly tricky, then I think I'm goosed here... Great video

Having watched this video, the Yale 3 star euro cylinder video, I have swapped my locks. I have gone with the Avocet with magnetic anti bump, anti snap and a huge amount of drilling protection including great big loose discs on the cylinder. In the UK most burglars use brut force attacks, drilling or snapping, but I get one that wants to pick he will be out of luck as the orientation makes just about impossible, I am told.

YUEMA is a lock that is impossible to pick. Their 360* variant. The lock works in opposite, eg is always "unlocked", and then "locks" when the correct key is inserted. This is then used by having the locking mechanism couple to the actuator, such as when no key or incorrect key is inserted, the core just freely spins without the actuator. Once the correct key is inserted, the core locks to the actuator so they both can rotate in unison. Since such a lock cannot be tensioned, its per definition impossible to pick.
@ryanmurray35984 жыл бұрын
@@sebastiannielsen I think we need to get one of these to lpl. Not that I like to see someone fail, but it would be interesting to see his take on it
@sebastiannielsen3 жыл бұрын
@@rob-fb5xs How woud such a tool look like? In the core/sleeve variant (used by a competitior) its enough with superglue or some shim to wedge between the core and sleeve, but in YUEMA the actuator part of the core is long behind the core, meaning theres nothing to grip onto. The core spins freely, meaning you can't tension or feel where the sliders are in correct position. Only way to exploit it would be like the masterlock M532 rekeyable lock, but that requires you to be able to tuck a shim between the sidebar and the cylinder wall, on the YUEMA lock, and thats not possible as the core is protected on YUEMA lock, ergo theres no gap between the core and the lock body allowing shimming. kzbin.info/www/bejne/apTam3qAZ85npaM As you see, there is a inverse lip there, on a normal cylinder lock, the cylinder has the lip over the lock hole, and in YUMEA 360, the lock body instead have a lip over the cylinder, ergo the hole in the cylinder is smaller than the core in the front.

There is currently another unpickable lock from a company called "Bowley Lock". It literally prevents any (known) tools from picking the core due to core shielding.

I just picked up a standard version of this type up from amazon. I figured with it being "standard security" rather than being starred, and it was £7.99, it would be a decent opener into this style of lock. It is kicking my butt. Mine appears to only have one spool or serrated pin (only one pin gives counter rotation in either 3 or 4 - I'm still learning). Probably over-reaching.

I have a question, I was picking my own back door cylinder lock for fun after watching you pick a few locks, and after I pick it, it turned 180 degree and stopped, then 2 pins popped up, 1 at front for sure and 1 at back (I think) at the bottom of the cylinder (opposite to the other pins), I know nothing about this and started to panic as I thought I messed the lock up, then after messing around for 5 minutes I discovered I needed to press the pins down with with along wrench and then turn it at the same time, I just wanted to know what these are? as ive never seen them
