Hi Peter, hope all is well with you and your family, it’s such a shame you don’t post videos on model railways anymore, they were always clear and concise and easy to follow, I hope you return in the future, I wish ESU would hire you to do their tutorials, stay safe mate, all the best for the future.

Interesting video Peter, It would be nice to see what loco images are available once you can link into the ESU site and if it is possible to add your own photos for the locos. All good stuff! All the best Tony

Hi Tony I know you can add your own photos but it is a lot of hard work on a computer and I'm not really that much into computers nowadays. Peter

Hi Peter, I am from Sri Lanka. I played your tutorial slow. What a wonderful presentation that was extremely clear in easy and simple spoken language. I have made copious notes of this tutorial. I do have a question. I have a friend who has a previous version of ECOS. His system, since of late, can never read a CV on the program track. A Soundtraxx Sound Decoder read "Generic NMRA decoder- Manufacturer Unknown" and also read "Loco not on Track". He brought the Loco with the soundtraxx Sound decoder and I read all the CVS from 1 to 8 in minutes on my dedicated program track using my MRC Prodigy Express 2. Besides changing an address on my MRC which works fine on my layout, his ECOS does not read the new address I gave and answers to the old address. I am not familiar with ECOS. I am going over to his layout site to check it out and perhaps, will find the problem thanks to this tutorial by you. I would however be thankful if you can help me with some advice or a referral for help. Thank You Peter.

Hello friend Firstly thank you so much for your kind comments. I hope the video will help you and your friends problem One thing I will say is make sure that when your friend is scanning the loco that he has ticked the program on test track as that could be the one reason why it's not reading properly. All the best and good luck peter

@@chelmswoodjunction Hi Peter, Thank you for your response. Just one more question. What is the voltage that's put out to the programming track in programming mode. I was told that the voltage is lower than 12 volts and some decoders need more voltage to read some decoders that dont read, hence programming track booster accessories. Your input will be immensely appreciated. The same decoder that did not respond to my friend's ECOS had no issue being read on my programming track hooked upto an MRC Prodigy Express 2.

Hello friend Programming track is at the same voltage as main track so check the voltage adjustment on the power base it might be set to low. Peter

Good evening Peter,when I try programing mine always says nothing on service track any ideas please ? programing track is definitely powered thanks Paul
@chelmswoodjunction
@chelmswoodjunction Жыл бұрын
Hi Paul Make sure the connections on both in back of controller and on track. Make sure that you definitely got the ecos on programming track as they have a tendency to go for main track. And try taking the main track plug out the back of ecos or make a quick easy connect disconnect on the main track wire. Apart from that without being able to see it I can't help no more. Peter

Great video. I am looking to change from the Guagemaster Prodigy to the Ecosystem. Can you tell me how you change to 128 speed steps as I run sound locos but want to use mph. All the best Bob
@chelmswoodjunction
@chelmswoodjunction 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Bob The ecos system is the best system I've ever used. To change the speed steps to mph is all done when you program the loco to the ecos system and if I remember correctly its the middle tab up the top and it will be on a drop down menu. Hope that helps but always here to help out more. Peter
