Hello Mike. Dalton, Ga native here. I wanted to get hired by CSX or NS and work through or near my hometown, but I couldn’t get on. However, BNSF hired me on and promoted me to engineer after some time. I enjoyed it, but it never felt quite right since I could not work near home. Thanks for the uploads! Though I can’t work the rails in this beautiful part of the country, it’s nice to see what it would be like. Thank you for the great footage! God bless!

Another question about the dynamic brake slowing down the rear locomotives first? Thanks for the answer! JOE
@DJhutcherson3 жыл бұрын
I hired on with CSX as a conductor out of Nashville back in 2006, and on the first few trips I made out on the road after I marked up, I brought my video camera with me and made a few videos while going down the tracks and posted them to my KZbin channel. Very bad idea...not too long afterwards I got a call from the road foreman of engines and one of my trainmasters on that subdivision telling me that if I didn't immediately take down the videos I had posted, I would be looking at some pretty serious charges and possibly getting fired. I never did find out exactly what rules they say I violated, or how management found out about the videos in the first place, but I have a feeling one of my engineers reported me, not really sure why he would do that, but I learned my lesson not to bring my camera to work anymore, lol.

Mike - I am a train driver here in Australia, I watch your videos and notice that you use some heavy applications on the Independent brake whilst rolling along, It is frowned upon here where I work, as it deemed a high risk of skidding the locomotives wheels, if we were caught doing it by a senior driver trainer, we would get a "please explain". So I am curious, is it frowned upon with your company? I am just curious as to the different methods of driving from around the world. Thanks for posting your videos, they are great to watch
