Damn, the combination of that mount and frame looks like your foot would be damn close to being as low as a trinity setup.
@pablosskates70678 ай бұрын
If you think about it, the Seba CJ is a soft boot but one of the stiffest skates on the market. It all depends on where the stiff part of the plastic ends. The CJ’s plastic comes half way up the side, kind of like the FR1 (but not as high). So I don’t really think it’s about soft boot vs hard boot. It’s more about stiff vs floppy. You can have stiff soft boots and floppy hard boots. These skates look absolutely amazing btw. They would pair very nicely with some endless frames.

not gonna lie, it looks like they improved a lot on their previous FR models, having said that, the previous shell was already amazing, so hats off to FR. they truly outdid themselves.

Having both single and dual density shells in hand, do you think the lateral support can work for wizard skating? Is it different (lateral support) from the ufrs?
@marcograndotto66158 ай бұрын
Oh and question number 2. I’m happy there are a little less space in the toe, but are they wider inside the shell? How much?
@LocoSkates8 ай бұрын
There’s too much variation in personal preference to give a solid answer to the Wizard question… but I bet that Wizard would say that it would be better stiffer (ie WITHOUT dual density shell). The shell is similar width to FR1 etc but the new liner gives you a bit more width
@matthaffner68488 ай бұрын
I also tried to downsize from my FR1 Intuition with the Neo. I put the FR Intuition liner in the Neo, and the toebox was just not big enough - both on top and on the side. This was with the dual density Neo which definitely did not solve the issue for me. Too bad, it's a lovely skate. Maybe I'll wait and see what they do with the Neo Intuition and try again.

I don't know if the lower frame height is a good thing. Depending on the width of the boot. If you are skating hard on the street and you lean the boot over and you touch the shell or the stupid protruding slider boot saver thing to the ground you are probably going down. Physical injuries cost so much more than new skates. I also don't like the rockerable frame bolts, much prefer the standard seba screw in mounts. I am confused are these replacing the FR1s? I am going to try these I think, but I hope the FR1 is still around.
@Rafaelinux4 ай бұрын
Hey @LocoSkates, by any chance would you know how to get a gentler rocker in these FR NEO 1s? The frame rocks the wheels way too much for my taste, to the point I feel really unstable. I'm used to the Endless Blades kind of rockering, btw.

Please just show the weight between the blue dual density boot vs the FR1.....PLEASE!!!! I'm assuming the dual density is lighter, but a friend of mine told me they feel heavier. Please confirm this. Thanks
@LocoSkates8 ай бұрын
I can't do it right now but I'm certain the Neo will be heavier in a like-for-like setup. Our previous video shows the non-dual density Neo to be 180g heavier than the equivalent FR2. The difference between the dual-density and non dual density Neo will be negligible.

How much difference does the lower drop really make ? ... I am a beginner, 50y/o, never going to require the best, but have got the money to spend ... My head says to get the FRX or Lightning, my wife says to get the fr3 as is doesnt have velcro, my heart says get the Neo ... my brain says, if you are getting the neo then get the FR2 ... argh, which one ?
@LocoSkates7 ай бұрын
It's a small difference and is just an extra selling point for the type of person who really cares about the little improvements. If you've got the money then I'd say get the Neo just on the of chance it will provide you with that extra bit of stability. It's what I'd do 🙂

Much prefer the look of these over the usual fr boots and great work redesigning a lower profile 165 mount. Coming from a 4x80 Trinity Mount to a regular 4x80 feels noticeably higher. A much more affordable alternative to something like a Powerslide HC Evo if your after that Low Profile Mount 🫶
@doctorgonzo77778 ай бұрын
I actually feel like it's a shame they removed the 7 point mounting system and put in the 5 point instead, having 3 holes exactly down the middle of the skate was cool for centering frames. with this new 5 point mounting system, you basically can no longer center it length wise as you only have 1 hole in the middle of the mounting block.

To be honest it would have been better if FR gone with trinity mount instead so that other trinity frames could have been used on neo. It seems FR pretty much limited themselves here and missed the trick. Most people want to change frames if they are spending over £200 on the setup. Zoom is half the price so if u want low ride and no frame change just go with that.
@wadesblades83168 ай бұрын
Unfortunately that wouldn't have been an option for FR because when Powerslide created the Trinity mounting system they decided to patent it. That's why only Powerslide has it. Frame companies like Endless or NN have to work with Powerslide to get permission to make frames for their system. Not a fan of patents personally especially hate seeing them pop up here and there in this industry when it's so small and there should be more co operation. Gotta give special thanks to K2 because they were one of the first in skating to patent shit left and right
