We have similar journeys. Locked for almost 13 years , self tightening for 11, had noticed the same issues with mature locks. I retghten 4 times a year bec I of a fear of thinning but it takes forever so transitioning to knotted locks. Actually followed Melissa Blake back in the day when researching sisterlocks and was so excited to see her content again. I do have thinning spots and am going to try the hair serum. Ive never oiled my hair or scalp because I have oily skin AND have hot flashes. I am nervous about the oil ending up on my face. However will take the plunge as the testimonials are very compelling. I love your videos.

@@Karla-mu6hn I’ve DIY’d for 10 years and will continue to do so. I still have my sisterlock grid and will knot now instead of interlock. The difference for me now is If my hair wants to grow outside the lock, I let it and will start a new lock as needed whereas before I would tug all new growth into the lock to maintain the grid. I honestly don’t want to see scalp. Good luck on your journey. Locking my hair was the best hair decision I ever made.

Pain should never go with retightenings. Im so over the grid after 5 years sisterlocked. Since I have been growing out my new growth per Melissa Blakes I have seen how insignifcant the grid is. I am loving the thickness at my roots and I never have to see that fresh grid/plucked chicken look again! I have sent my video to get started with knotted lock and Im so excited to embark on this new phase in my lock journey🎉 love all your content and advice Tunisia!

My discomfort when getting my retightening is do to me being tender-headed, however I do have these locks that density is inconsistent or thinning locks not from the scalp but along the loc itself. how do you fix that?
