My only concern is working out. I do this 5 times a week. I know not to wash often and braid them down. But I also have a very dry scalp. She said not to wash until week 2. I have rosewater handy and that’s about it. Do I still need to band them on top of that? I’ve only had them for a few days and they’re holding up. Just want to make sure I’m not skipping a step.
@Sisterlockertv

Congratulations on 4K!! I love all your videos. Just a few questions for you. You still experience having bumpy LOCS and fat ends even with Braiding & Banding? Do you often have holes? I never had holes. I never had the curly ends my Consultant went all the way down to the ends. I still haven’t used oil it’s been 1 year. Your Locs are beautiful.
@TunisiaAli
@TunisiaAli 5 жыл бұрын
Hey sis!!! Thank you. I often unravel my ends. I like them open. But also over the years, lint picking has made its share of imperfections. I never experienced holes with my loc install. But with lint picking and opening my ends, I will from.time to time have an open section that unravels (really more than a hole). If I dont keep an eye in the repair and I let it unravel too much? The ends can become dense again. There have been times where I go very high on a lock and unravel it which creates an opportunity for it to become very dense again as the locks continue to do what they do. So nice to get a shot out.

I think using natural colours rather that chemically help your locks too. My friends locks great N she naturally colours her hair. I'd like to but I will wait till my hair settles. I am grateful for your videos on this. Also my Loctician says we don't need oils. U say essential oils is ok. Could u say what type oils is good to use especially when the hair might begin to smell?! I can't wait for more length next year. As my hair is long initially I cant wait to see its potential. I get installed on Sunday 😁

Uh why would those ( less than 1 to 2 years sisterlocked) use oils or products such as (cremes , pomades,etc) on their locks? You explained about hair colouring and my loctician said the same thing.
@TunisiaAli
@TunisiaAli 5 жыл бұрын
Some folks do. I dont know about pomades, but my loctician started with oil on day one. I have never regretted it. Many will say they need a little something for moisture/conditioning and scalp health or irritation. I cant imagine ever using a creme or pomade on my hair. When I do make my own essential oil blends, they are light and 100% natiral5. Thank you Song for giving feedback.

Thank you. Great vid. I am very very interested... I do have about 14inch length it touches bra strap I know as I ve been told its going to cost because of my length and that they may even ask me to cut. I ll cross that bridge when I'm doing my research... but I ve been natural all my life with limit to no chemicals...but last 10years only maybe twice a year using heat. I'm ready for a new hair journey...so these past two days I have been researching... I will be making calls soon seeing who I may want to consult with. I do like your thickness... so question... I know length does no start so long but wanted to ask about the thickness?

I don’t know about sisterlocks. But seems to me washing 1-3 times a week with shampoo is plenty. On other days a simple rinsing if the hair with water 💦 would work to rinse out sweat and debris. I don’t think shampoo is good for the hair on a daily basis, even if it is a mild shampoo without sulfates.

Would you recommend using henna to dye your locks?
@TunisiaAli
@TunisiaAli 4 жыл бұрын
I don't see why not. I used to use henna before locks but stopped. I would be careful as to the quality and making sure its not gritty and is easily and thoroughly washed. Research more.

Yes. It can be tricky. I see some folks tying them too tight also. Sometimes wrestling with them can create issue and it can be helpful to cut them loose as long as you are careful not to cut your hair.
