you're beautiful girl! Have to give another woman compliment when it's due. I'm getting sisterlocks and at least I know if they don't work out I can transition to traditional locs!

I love the size of your locks. They have inspired me to start my locks. I want the size you have now. Your sister locks were nice too, but the way you combine your hair really fits you well. 😊👍

I am very happy you find larger locs better. You don't need perfect parts because having perfect parts means a person needs to show scalp. Very one has to look alike, having perfect grid lines in their head. Your roots will hold up better due to the strength and not weak roots that will weaken and fall out. You don't have to always tighten up your roots every month. That's bad as well. Be your own person and not following the masses. Let your roots grow for three months or so, and strengthen. When you do tighten up your hair, your and tighten them up only a inch away from your scalp, just to keep your roots from weakening. And, it also covers all of the parts in your head. You can have the size locs you want. They are just locs. Good Girl!

I started with 374 diy locs and i have been seriously considering combining because I, too, have a profound love for thicker locs (like your size). I just happened to stumble upon your video and I'm so happy I did! Think I am gonna take the plunge next retighten and combine. Love you hair!

I just got Sisterlocks as well and after 2 months, I started interlocking them myself. I only combined a couple because I do like the small size but I'll be following along your journey to see what I can learn 😊 great video!!!!!!

I have braidlocs and we have similar loc size, I'll be following you so I can go through some of your style videos for some ideas. I don't know anyone with sisterlocs in real life so I can't imagine that my tiny locs are roughly FOUR TIMES the size of your original sisterlocs.

I did it I two strand twisted my sister locks four locks at a time some times 3 if I had to depending on the parting space and the parts don't look to bad either I tied the ends with little knots so that they would stay just like you did and then I interlock my roots so I would not be able to change my mind and girl let me tell I love it so much today I did a roller set with crinkles and curls and spong rollers it dryer way faster , and it is so much prettier than my sister haver ever been no shade to sister locks but they are just not for me any more I am so much happier I saw a couple of other you tubers who did some of the same things to combine theirs and I am so so happy you all shared.

I want to combine my SL’s too. Some by two some by 4. In case I missed it, you just interlock at the root, then two strand all the way down. Eventually the whole loc should mesh together, and loc, no matter how many where combined? Your locs are beautiful btw!

hi, how are you? the loc you showed that has the skinny end looks just like some of mine, and I too am going to cut that part off. I do however have aways to go before I can do that because I am almost a month locked. lol I interlocked my hair myself and my hair was in layers do to a bad hair cut some parts were not layered rite at all. lol so I have skinny ends on some. I'm loving the journey thus far. the crazy stray hairs don't bother me too much, I did use my crochet needle to bring some hairs into the locs the other day but my hair is so soft it was back the next morning. lmao it's all good though I love my locs. 🤗✌thanks for the information you just shared.

i use to take 7 hrs. It was because of the density. I have extremely thick and dense hair. So I had 900 locks while my mom who had the same size had 475-500.

I started my sisterlock journey about 10 years ago and i recently relocated to a new state where the pricing for retightening is completely out of my budget. When I was living in California i was only paying 25 an hour and now that I'm in Texas they want to charge 45 an hour which I'm unwilling to pay. I've now made the decision to transition over from sisterlocks, but I feel as tho I need some guidance on how to do so and your video has given me alot of relief. Theirs alot that I still don't know about traditional locs as far as the retightening or retwisting works best for what locs. With the size locs that we have what method works best? Is palm rolling an option being that I'm into clean edges?
@tonicroom17698 жыл бұрын
OK thanks for the info! 😊 I decided to go ahead and tradition from my sisterlocks today. It took me about 9 hours to completely finish and I must say I like them already!!! 😬 I did 4 locs in three bank and 3 locs in the front. Thanks again for sharing you journey and transition it helped me a lot.

i have 533 locs and had my first retight last week, it took my consultant 1.5hrs. She said she's just fast and that she did do my whole head. Why do other pple's retights take longer? Do you think my consultant is just doing a fast job? I started with about 19inches of natural hair and it took her 17hrs to install the locs, which i thought was also fast

😂😂...ur prego story....i was in the same situation....except i got so impatient i cut all mine off😩....i miss them so much but the small size is tedious cuz im lazy but traditional is too big. i want dreds back so bad tho😳
@kiab75507 жыл бұрын
kayajourney....i had too much going on during that time of my life. i just moved to ATL so my (cheap) and well experienced loctician was not available. the cost for retightening in Atlanta was $100 for the first hour and then $50 every hour after that. and in two hours she didn't even do half of my head.😡 she didnt even repart the tiny section she did do b4 i got up n stormed out the salon. whereas I was paying $70 for an hour and a half and she completed my entire head including reparting, plus washed and conditioned it. and of course I could do it myself but girl after 6-7 months being pregnant plus I was put on bed rest. SMH... No way could I do that. plus after my baby was born when I was nursing she pulled my hair in the front even after I tied it up she'd still reach for the freaking edges to me I just said it had to go I was too tired to deal with any of it especially after my daughter was born early n i literally lived at the hospital for the first month.yep trying to retighten ur hair in the hospital bathroom.ppl lookin like ur child sick n u spending time doing ur hair😑😒...but truth be told i only did it when the nurse kicked us out for 30mins for shift change...which they did 2x a day..honestly if it wasnt for that i would have never left her side nit even to eat, so i was kind of greatful they did that cuz i did use that opportunity to eat n take a bath n spend the remainding 5 mins to tighten what little i could...i really just got too frustrated n too tired to do it....😳..the life of the lazy n impatient.

thanks for posting this!! I just starting my sisterlocks and asked for the biggest size they come, so I have about 400. I think I want to interlock every 2 together to increase their size just a little and to also half the number of locs. question - when you first joined your sisterlocks were they still in the baby phase or were they actually mature locs? is it better to go ahead before they are mature or does it matter?
