Ahaha, an old Q&A from 9 years ago was recommended to me today and one question was „do you think you will always be obsessed with tea?“ or something like that and your response was „no I think the obsession will fade at some point.“ Well, here we are. 😄

Single cup Pour over seems like the best option for occasional one cup of coffee
@JordanSmith-bn3zp
@JordanSmith-bn3zp Ай бұрын
In theory yes, but it takes much longer and more focus than pressing a few buttons. With a small baby, it's not possible to be as attentive if you're busy focusing on the multiple steps of pour over coffee. Getting the water ready / boiling. Prepping cups, coffee (even more time if you buy whole beans), making sure to pour slowly to brew the coffee longer, pouring just enough water, adding your optional sugars and creams. So really a pour over takes much much longer than a coffee machine.

I was not at all prepared for the other section of loose leaf tea 😂 I don’t usually comment but I’ve been watching your channel for so many years now, I think originally I subscribed for the hair and make up tutorials. But it’s so nice because it turns out you have so many of my interests covered in your videos with sewing, other needlework, drinking and hoarding tea, home remodelling / interior design, gardening and now also the pregnancy and baby content (I’m currently 9 months pregnant!). It’s really fun to see someone be on such a similar journey! Also if you’re interested (not trying to be a smart a*s, I promise), “søstrene” in Søstrene Grene has the emphasis on the first syllable :)

For occasional use, french press or pour over is much better I guess. Your machine won't be used that often and it's probably a hassle to clean when not in frequent use

Some of those teas look really beautiful, especially the one with the cornflower. I wish I wasn't so boring with my tea taste, but I really dislike the flowery ones. Btw I'm a long time subscriber and silent watcher, but decided to be a little more assertive when it comes to commenting because algorithm reasons and to let you know that I always look forward to your videos.

Ok, so I organized my tea drawers after watching this and realized they were sadly neglected! I went searching for some lovely teas to add and discovered an amazing tea shop that is fairly local to me with tons of Pacific Northwest inspired teas! I wanted to try so many I opted for the 1/2oz sample sets and chose 15 teas! lol! I also got a stunning infuser mug! Thanks to you I drank 1.5 quarts of tea yesterday and I’m so excited to get all my new options and renew my love of tea! Some of the names are so fun, Northern twilight Beards Hollow Exultant Peninsula High Tide Arch Cape Dark River City Grey And many more!

Down here in hot, hot, hot southeast Fl, I take my leftover tea and make iced tea with it. When only an iced beverage will do, it’s a nice way to use up any left over tea. If you’re hot and thirsty, drinking a pint within a couple of minutes is easy to do. I don’t mix all the different left over teas together like some people do.

This was so relaxing to watch/listen to as I sip on some tea myself. My bf and I ended up with a rather large tea collection when we moved in together this past summer. I’m determined to use it or loose it for most by the end of winter as it’s taking up a whole shelf and then we got more as gifts after I recently had a surgery, thankfully while I’m recovering at home I’ve been rather happy drinking tea as it’s very comforting. My hope is I’ve put a big dent in the teas by the time I’m fully healed.

I highly recommend a stainless steel moca pot/Italian espresso maker for your coffee maker! I drink coffee daily and got rid of my coffee maker in favor of this! I got one that has a copper accent and it’s lovely and small as well as making wonderful coffee! Mine makes “6” shots of espresso so I make one 22oz coffee each morning in a good insulated cup and sip on it all day :)

This is why I stay subscribed to this channel! Because only here you can find A Half an hour-Video about TEA!! With all my single tea bags in addition to my jars and my medicine teas, I guess I currently own about at least 80 different sorts. Besides, I personally don't think decluttering tea is needed since it is a grocery. So you can always drink it as long as it is not gone bad, and then it's gone and if you don't like it, someone else will drink it. But I have a very stupid question: how can someone that doesn't tolerate caffeine at all drink coffee. Or is it decaf?
@Loepsie
@Loepsie Ай бұрын
Yep, decaf only! 😊

Recently I went through my horde and decided to keep 2 black, 2 green, 1 oolong, 1 white, and 2 herbal teas in the kitchen. 8 is such a strict limit to me, but I managed! All the other tea that I still wanted to keep went into a tight sealing storage container, in the basement where it stays cool. Then when I need to restock, I go to the container. I still have a drawer of samples, odd single bags, and other drink mixes as well. It's so easy to have it get out of hand!

Anything containing fennel, aniseed or cinnamon isn't safe, as well as some more unusual ingredients like eucalyptus or pine needles. Regular tea only in moderation because of the caffeine, and licorice or star anise are not recommended if you need to watch your blood pressure. There's more of them, but this is off the top of my head 😂 Pretty much every herbal blend I have ended up containing something that's not recommended 🙃

I don't get the "collecting" of tea, isn't a "collection" something u acumilate to keep and have? Do you not drink your tea? Why do u collect a food item just to have it without drinking it? And if you drink it, why call it a collection and not mabey a "stock" a stock of tea? Or a "selection" of tea? Would be less confucing. But intresting non the less to see all the weird things people "collect"
@Loepsie
@Loepsie Ай бұрын
Ah see, this might be an instance where you can tell English is not my native language :) My urge to call this a collection might also come from the longstanding KZbin tradition of sharing makeup "collections", which are also made up of consumables. I haven't given it much thought tbh 😂
@lightupdarkness1362
@lightupdarkness1362 Ай бұрын
@@Loepsie As a native English speaker, you're not wrong! Collection can simply mean a "group of things." It does not necessarily mean a group of "collectables" - which are objects generally kept for viewing, but not to be used up even if they are consumable (model cars, stamps, coins, rocks, designer bags, etc.) Consequently, talking about a "collection of collectables" is just called a "collection" for simplicity's sake but it is not the common meaning or use of the word "collection" to only be talking about collectables. The above commenter was using too narrow a definition.
