More people should know about this stove! It's basically an ultralight/backpacking friendly biolite.. and many people love the biolite! I also love the rectangular lunch boxes that you show in another video. I wish you all the luck and success :) You bet I'll be buying some of your stuff once I have enough disposable income haha

dang that looks good! sweet stick chopper as well. try stacking short thick sticks vertically somewhat tight pack & putting tinder on top for a top down burn. might not fit the amber guard on at first but I think your stove can burn very efficiently & clean with reasonably good burn times 👍.

Sounds like a good idea!

Just found out about the kickstarter and kicked in for the 3rd run. This thing looks freakin' awesome and needs way more attention! I've been a biolite campstove 1 and 2+ user for over 10 years and use mine constantly. A lightweight alternative will be so unique in the marketplace! Good luck on large-scale manufacturing and I hope more people find out about it in the meantime!

Amazing, thanks for the comment and your support 🔥 I can’t wait to see how people get on with these, as like you say the LOFI stove fills the gap between the biolite and meths/gas stoves…. Really looking forward to getting them all made 🙌

@@JonnyLOFI should make a video demonstrating it running directly from your phone via a USB-OTG cable. :) Skip the power bank completely! I can't imagine it would drain the typical phone more than 10-15% per hour.
@JonnyLOFI2 жыл бұрын
@@GordLamb I'd love to try this, but my apple phone doesn't have this feature... I'll see If I can borrow one from someone. The stove will use about 2% of a battery charge to boil a litre of water (6mins on full).

I have both the Biolite and Lofi. I prefer the Biolite with my triangle top add on to balance heavier cast iron pans or to keep lighter pans higher off the flame. Fire charging the battery is another benefit. In over 4 years, I haven't had to charge the Biolite battery at all. Constant refueling of the Lofi while lifting the pot off gets annoying especially in colder environments.

Hi, the product seems useful! congratulations. I have a couple of questions though: 1. can it be grilled directly over the stove? is it resistant to grease that falls inside? 2. how will it work when connected with a regular USB-C cable? At full power? 3. can you smoke in it without turning on the blower? 4. can the fan be switched off before it has not cooled down? 5. can it be washed in the dishwasher?
@JonnyLOFI2 жыл бұрын
Hi Brunon - some good questions here! Thanks for the comment. Titanium is very resistant to grease, so this shouldn't be a problem, and although the electronics are not dishwasher proof - the upper part of the stove could be removed for cleaning in the dishwasher though I've not tried this! A regular USB-C cable will run the stove on full power only, yes. The stove should never be burned without the fan running as this can overheat the electronics.

If you use good solid wood it would burn much longer. The sticks he used seemed pretty lightweight so they would burn away in no time.
@JonnyLOFI2 жыл бұрын
@@countryside_guy Absolutely. Good, dry hardwood will burn much longer and better than these very light sticks that I had found. I think that they were probably mainly pine with all the oils washed out by the sea.

Did you have the fan on the lowest setting?
@JonnyLOFI2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment, I tend to have the fan on high too get things heating up, for example, when I added the coconut milk; or for when relighting embers with new fuel. For frying, and simmering I used the lowest setting…

£120 for the product at release is that right?

Hey, that’s right - but the earlybirds have all gone now on Kickstarter.com You can still pick one up for £135, that will be delivered next summer 👍

Hi Jonny, It's a neat stove, but I think that the price is double what it should be. With things costing as much as they are, even 1/2 would be hard but dooable. Good Luck, Cheers, S

Thanks Colin, Chicken works really well in a Thai curry like this, just switch out the Tempeh at the beginning 🙌
