Your approach to the concrete cube for the fireplace is fascinating. Have you considered any specific techniques for ensuring the rebar is properly anchored to enhance the structural integrity as it cures?

The vertical rebar has 1ft L piece attached to horizontal rebar in bedded in the concrete slab... next, I am going to attach the same type rebar horizontally in the cube wall before placing the concrete in the wall... thanks for watching and commenting
