I LOVE your way of living. We’ve gotten so used to this artificial lifestyle that people have become so lazy and dependent upon on gadgets to make life “easier” when in fact all these things are ruining us. People don’t use their brains as much anymore, and all these chemicals we put into our bodies just make it easier for more illnesses to develop. Thank you for sharing your life with the rest of us. Maybe more people will start to see the benefits of what Mother Earth can provide vs. what modern technology has been providing.

Can't believe I'm just now watching this..thank you for sharing your home! It's beautiful! I love the fact that every room is so cozy and feels like home❤️ I love the quilts. My grandma and aunts all hand quilt. I'm not as patient and use a machine. Quilts are always treasured possessions just full of memories...I need to learn hand quilting and get back to tradition! Thank you for the tour Stacy! Many, many blessings!!

I've been reading some of the comments (and on some other videos of yours as well). Those negative ones, and the negative mindsets from trolls, are the very reason my wife and I have made the decision to pursue the same lifestyle. It's a shame people like that try and take away from the great information, not to mention the effort, you guys are sharing. I want to thank you guys for sharing the information!! Keep up the solid work and we're going to be joining you soon enough. Just bought the property...now we'll move towards cutting the umbilical cord lol!!

My hubby and Son built our little house 20 years ago It might have been 600 sq feet with a loft to sleep in.. I loved it. We had a very small living room kitchen and bath down stairs and a large loft up stairs.. It looked a lot like the tiny homes you see today. We were in our 50 then too and had some land for gardens. Wished we still had it..

We aren't off grid, but we are clean eating, government despising, Torah observing, nature loving preppers who even if crap never hits the fan (hopefully it doesn't) then we are living as independently as possible. At the ready to help others if need be, and keep living in a way that glorifies our precious Creator. Keep it up, guys. And thanks for all of these health tips and recipes on your channel. Sure, people can look all of this stuff up on the Internet, but you all put it into a visual format and show others HOW to do it. Peace and love! You've made me a better mama 😊

Well here I am 6 years late for the video!!🤣🤣🤣 I am so very pleased I found your channel. I am so excited that my husband and I are selling our huge monstrosity of a house and leaving California for a simpler life. Several of my friends are horrified that we want to leave our home here (3400 sq. ft. 5 bedroom/4bathroom) but with just the two of us this size home makes no sense. Especially as we have no family anywhere even remotely close to us. Growing up on a small cattle ranch near Canada has thankfully given me a lot of useful skills. As well as spending so much time on construction sites with my dad. He taught me to work concrete and frame out walls/windows/doors from a very young age. Hard work, none of it glamorous, but it was good honest work. So looking forward to the move and building a forever home for my husband and I to live.❤️❤️❤️ as always, thanks so much for the useful information you always share with us.

TexasPrepper2 the only way really to make a composting toilet is to buy a bucket and just put a toilet seat on top and turn it with a stick of wood and continue to use sawdust or hickory chips each time you go, but composting toilet separate the pee from the do by putting a slot in the middle. That way there's no contamination and no chance for mold. I like the one that has the crank on it that is on KZbin that a guy makes. If I made one I would want to put a crank that went into the bucket with a handle at the top to turn it instead of turning it by hand. I don't think I would like doing that without the crank.

OFF GRID with DOUG & STACY exactly what I am going to do. And bit by bit I'll get solar/wind hybrid system and the separate wood fired hot water (80 or 40ltr) for showering and the kitchen. Obviously before this I'm going to be using the cooking woodstove for everything (I believe you can get a little portable solar panel that would run the lights to begin with but I have nothing against oil lamps and candles. We have a sawmill so lots of sawdust for the composting loo and as I said I need a propane tank for my jewellery business so I will have a two burner camping stove which I can make a cup of coffee on or just to heat up if I have just arrived (I'm still living in London but eventually I'm moving everything to Scotland and by then my solar/wind system will be installed. I love your home and I love that bed!!

A composting toilet isn't allowed in any states around here. We had a septic tank & the town made everyone in town hook up to the towns new sewer for $18,000 to $50,000!!! Plus a new monthly sewer bill! We sold because they wouldn't even tell people how much theirs would be! More and more the towns are taking away people's ways to save on bills. Even with a septic tank, they controlled that too by requiring pumping every year (even if it didn't need it) & it had to pass an inspection when you sold your house or you had to repair it (average cost was $50,000)So, you lost any money you might have made from the sale. The Electric company charges people here a monthly fee to Not have electricity! I don't even see how that is legal, or WHY it would be but it is. I checked into getting solar and the solar co told me that! They find a way. Then if you don't pay it, that's a bad mark on your credit report. Feels like extortion to me.

I really like your home! It is very kind of you to share it with me! Can you tell me what the first floor square footage is? I am older and think that I would add a ground level bedroom and another room for pantry/storage. People who have negative comments need to keep quiet and go somewhere else! Blessings to you both!

Just purchased 70 acres of land in north Georgia with two of my best friends and we will be each building off cabins over the next year and a half and moving into them! After living in the suburbs for many years i'm excited to get further away, and have my own animals and a larger garden than I have now!

I love it! Married for 32 years and I'm trapped in society. My wife is a city girl. I grew up staying on an Amish farm in the summers in Indiana. My father helped them build. The life I always wanted. What we do for the ones we love lol. I try and spend time in the woods -it helps.

Your home is so cozy! I'm noticing how much I don't use in my house anymore! I bet I could live in a cabin like yours! This video was 6 Years ago, so one more down! I love it!!

Hey Doug and Stacy. Really enjoy your videos. Keep doing it. I haven't seen any reference to this, but in the video where you topple the Pin Oak and it twisted on you, did no one see the squirrel bailing out of the top of the Oak and leaping 30 feet to the ground? I caught it when you reversed the fall, but there he, she, it was leaping for it's life scampering away in the duff. Check it out, you'll see it. Good job squirrel.

Thanks for the tour of your beautiful cabin. Your bed looks a lot like ours. Our cabin is about 1000 sq.feet which includes a bedroom on the second floor. Do most of our living downstairs and am grateful not too have a big house to clean anymore. it sure frees up time for gardening and generally enjoying nature. God bless you both.

JUST found your channel when I was getting updated on Starry Hilder's mishap. I really like what you two have done as well. Though not as High-Tech as the Hilder's, I definitely see the value of YOUR work as well.
