That's the part that made me so irrationally angry, the definitions that are completely off base. A scam doesn't need to be successful to be a scam, that just means you're bad at scamming people. And even in a charitable reading if Logan himself wasn't actually intending to scam people, if the people he hired did try to do that, he's still responsible. On top of that, he doesn't understand defamation. Defamation is not saying something bad about someone or saying something that harms their reputation, it's specifically saying something that harms someone's reputation that you *reasonably understood was a false claim*. The law is written to protect journalists because otherwise anyone who creates an expose would be at risk. If you make a negative claim and have good reason to make your claim (for example: you claim an influencer was responsible for a scam when he hired multiple people who have committed crimes to work on a failed project, and said influencer even later admitted those people are scammers) then it's not defamation.

Also, not to nitpick, "Africa" was not one of Germany's fronts (the east front and west front). He correctly identified that the SSRs were the eastern front, but the western front was predominantly western europe. The targets in Africa, from a nazi perspective, were mostly colonial outposts from the post-millennium "spheres of influence" era, which I would argue made them more "european" conflicts than African conflicts. That said, as is always the case in colonialism, a lot of Africans wound up paying the price at the end and that's something that should never be devalued. But the theater in Africa was mainly from a perspective of supply chain and resource-based attrition tactics against the allies in western europe.

So I recently learned the courts generally go with the stricter state's laws so in theory coffee could get in trouble. One of the big reasons that Logan took the video down, is the Zach thing was expunged information. Legally, Logan wasn't allowed to share it publicly. "Didn't you do any background checks Stephen?" Yes Logan, and this wasn't available because it was EXPUNGED. It was no longer relevant, and it was also incredibly inaccurate with how you shared it. Another youtuber actually messaged Zach and got more of the story, and it was not a liquor store robbery, and it was over 20 years ago. Court would literally tear Logan apart for that alone.
